You do remember correctly. I didn't manage to watch it until the end earlier, so I'm going to do that now. I've been trying to find it on DVD, too, but the only ones are sold for about 26 Euro which is waaaay too expensive for me, so I just watch the youtube clips for now.

Yeah, I like that movie. Rupert Everett and Cary Elwes are also in it, if I remember correctly. Been a million years since I saw it.

So I started checking out Colin Firth's early start on youtube and now I've found myself totally fallen in love with "Another Country". It's a 1984 film set in the 1930ies, that means he was only 23 years old when this was shot but his acting is abolutely brilliant. I think my new passion is movies set in the 1930ies. They always turn out to be great.

I am definitely there with you, it was just that I up all night to watch the actual show while simultanously tweeting on Twitter about what happened on the screen, so I came up with this crazy idea to cut the Oscar in half and give one part to each film. LOL And I was definitely happy for Colin Firth. In fact, The King's Speech is now one of my most favorite movies ever and I am definitely going to buy the DVD as soon as it's out. Black Swan is good too, but yeah, a bit too disturbing to watch it every now and then. I might at least wait a year or so until I rent it on DVD. LOL

I did love black swan. But i definately think the King's Speech was definately more worthy of an oscar. Black Swan, although it was stunning and amazing to watch was way too disturbing. Gave me nightmares for weeks to be honest!

Excuse me, but I am happy that Social Network didn't win. :devil: YAY THE KINGS SPEECH!!! (Doesn't mean I'm not sad for Black Swan, though. But there can only be one winner. *sigh* If I would have to decide I'd just cut the Oscar in half and give it to both movies. LOL

I can't believe King's Speech won. I Really thought it would go to the Social Network. but I'm SOOOOO happy it did. Such a great movie, important story, still relevant to times today. I had a stuttering problem growing up so this movie meant a lot to me,and Seidler's speech too, topped with an incredible performance by one of my favorite actors!

I know. I think I've been in love with him since I was 10 years old watching Valmont and Pride and Prejudice! So glad Mr. Darcy has finally won an academy award!!! This movie is truly amazing Deb. You'll have to rent it when it comes out. We've taken a poll and asked everyone who've seen it if they liked the movie. No one has said no so far.

I had to stay up for the rest of the awards. Couldn't say no to it. It was nice to hear all the applause for Eisenberg's nomination. Definately been a fan of his since Roger Doger and I know he'll be nominated in the future.

Pretty much seals it for Best Picture. I have no business rooting for anyone I haven't seen, but I like a lot of the people who are nominated from past stuff.

very cool. I had to stay up for the director award. kind of suprised at King's Speech. Thought it would sway towards Fincher to be honest. Glad he won though, King's Speech so great.

So far I'm disappointed. And Summit is going to have to make up for that "big" Twilight moment. They announced it, like, this BIG, BIG moment no fan would want to miss and what did we get? That was so lame, the word lame doesn't qualify here. :angry:
