And I really felt it when Keith broke down and hugged Zack.  That poor kid.  He knew exactly what was going to happen and he was too terrified to try to stop it.

Yes, there are many nuances that you catch on repeat viewing.  That was number 7 for me, not counting the times that I just watch the Chris parts.

So while other people are watching the DVD in their homes, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to see it again on the big screen. Though this screen wasn't actually really big.

And I can say there are definitely nuances that are worth watching the movie over a few times. Justin still impressed me and Chris still amazes me. That heart-breaking look on his face (on both their faces, actually) at the end at the mountain still kills me. And even though there were just a handful of people in the room with me, Chris still got a few laughs in the tube steak boogie scene and in the end, when Keith hugged Zack, I could feel the tension around me.

This movie truly is stunning, and I really wish Universal would release a DVD that's worth buying. Because I'd love to have it on my shelf. But the crappy version that not only sucks because of its extras totally isn't. You're right, Deb, I feel sorry for Nick as well.

And there was one more thing. Watching the beginning sequence closely again, there is one shot where I really think you can see one of the Marquette brothers other than the one with the toy gun. Of course I could be wrong, but it looks so much like Chris from his really early stuff. When I'm back home I'll make a screencap. But I guess we should be believing Chris when he says only Eric ended up in the movie in that one scene.

I just read what they wrote in the German press documentation for AD that you can download on the Concorde website (German distributor). It's basically just his generic bio that you can find on pretty much every info page on Chris. What's funny, though, is that they got the title for "The Invisible" completely wrong:

Demnächst wird er neben Justin Chatwin und Margarita Levieva im Thriller „The Spyglass" unter der Regie von David S. Goyer zu sehen sein, außerdem in „Fanboys", eine Produktion von Kevin Spaceys Firma Trigger Street Productions und in einer Hauptrolle in Fred Dursts „The Education of Charlie Banks".

The first part says: He will soon be seen on screen in the thriller "The Spyglass", next to Justin Chatwin and Margarita Levieva.

The Spyglass??? LOL! I think the movie was produced by Spyglass Entertainment. Quite a funny mix-up, wouldn't you say?

What is this about?

It's an Italian site, the main site is apparently something about entertainment marketing. I can't speak Italian either, but what I can make out, it's a promo for an Italian special edition DVD of the movie. The site that you found it on is called Hollywood Movie Money. I think it's an agency that promotes movies for the production companies in Italy. Interestingly, the page you found cannot be reached through their actual live website, so maybe it's something that was planned but didn't actually happen? Sounds unlikely that Italy would get a special edition when the US didn't.

Actually, it says "promozioni passate". That means "promotion in the past", so it's something that has already happened? I don't really get it either.

No, wait, I got it! They say something about "Slevin Patto Criminale". That's the Italian title for "Lucky Number Slevin", another movie. So it's a special edition DVD that has Lucky Number Slevin and Alpha Dog on it. Also says "Special Edition Doppo Disco", which means "special two disc edition". Probably just those two movies and no specials, so I don't think this is anything to get excited about.

How freakin' stupid are these children that we're raising?

I ask myself this question almost every day. But sometimes it's funny to hear what my brother's girlfriend tells me from school:
Teacher: Can somebody tell me what "incubation" is?
Student: Wasn't that the time when they burnt all the witches?

I never thought of it that way, but you're exactly right.  Wow!

One thing I need to correct you on is that Jake and Zack are HALF brothers, not stepbrothers.  Just a pet peeve of mine.  They have the same dad so they're halves.  Steps are when each parent brings in children from another marriage.  I have one half brother and three step-sibs so I'm well-versed in that stuff.

I look forward to talking to you more about the movie now that you've seen it.
