Yeah, I liked that too. If you look back at my comments after seeing the DVD, you find that I said much the same about the deleted scenes.

There's also a couple of things I wanted to say about the deleted scenes. My first reaction was: Boy, Chris's best work on the movie is all in the deleted scenes! And it really is. The role he plays in is incredibly dark and sad and depressing. And it all comes radiating off the screen when you watch him, he did amazing work there.

Chris is the only actor David Goyer mentioned by name during the commentaries of the deleted scenes. They mostly only talked about why certain scenes were taken out of the movie because of storyline improvement (some of which was BS if you ask me), but Chris is the one he singled out, talking about how certain moments felt really special to him the way Chris played them. I felt a certain amount of vindication for Chris upon hearing Goyer praising him. The fact remains that they sacrificed the integrity of the movie for making it a toned-down PG-13 version for all the teenies out there.

You know, Deb, I think we can really milk these caps for Butterflies, at least for the chapters where they're not all happy. The one above would be perfect for Deep Black too.

And you're right about the lion shirt. Maybe we should ask Chris about that some time.
