If you're really obsessed, you buy TV shows on DVD so you can make good quality screencaps and vidcaps. Of course some people might also buy them for the extras that you usually don't get to see on TV.

I buy a majority of them because I didn't see the show in the original run but I want to. If I did see it originally, I liked it and want to watch them again.

I think I buy them for the same reasons, but I'd like to add another one:
8. You can watch the show whenever you want. You're independent from the TV stations.
