I was never a gamer at all. I never had a play station or anything like that. Well, when I was younger I used to play all those old games on my Amiga500, like Emerald Mine and stuff like that. Loooooong ago. LOL

It's kinda ironic that I'm opening a new thread by that title, because, really, I'm not a computer gamer at all. Never liked the action stuff where you have to have fast reflexes. Hate the ego shooter stuff. But I do like puzzle-like games every once in a while. It's not that I've played a lot, but just now I tried out the new CSI: NY game. I have played all the other CSI: games, even the Miami one.

The last CSI: game (Hard Evidence) was really kinda cool, and you'd think that the newest one, the CSI: NY one, would be more advanced with better graphics and better controls and more interaction, right? Well, wrong! The NY game is really kinda cheap and cheaply done. It's definitely a step back. If Hard Evidence was clever and tricky at times, the NY game is total kid stuff. All the puzzles are either real easy or real stupid or both. Now, while it can be frustrating if you're stuck at the same point and just can't go further without help, this is way too easy. The interrogation of suspects is a joke. I'm kinda bored with it. I will play it through to the end, but it's anything but challenging.

I guess the only plus is that they had all the TV show actors do the voices. However, Hawkes is really the only character that looks like the character on TV. All the others are more or less way off base.

Now, the real gamers would totally get a yawn out of any of the CSI: games, but they'd fall asleep over the keyboard after even the first few minutes of the CSI: NY game. So if anyone was thinking about buying this one--don't. It's seriously a waste of a good 30 or so bucks.

I have the Lost computer game as well, btw. (See a theme here?) Not too impressed with that one either. And it doesn't even have the real voices for most of the characters.

So, what kind of computer games do you like?

-TeeJay
