Sure. But there's fun and then there's completely brain-dead. And movies just seem to get dumber every year. What I don't like is stupid movies. I'd like to see some smart action/sci-fi movies like they used to make, just for a change of pace. That's why District 9 is so appealing. It looks different, and people are saying that it's really smart. If it's a hit, maybe it'll set a new standard and we'll go through a period of better, tighter, deeper movies for a few years. But, of course, being an R-rated film, it will never earn as much as the relentless onslaught of PG-13 popcorn movies aimed at 14-year-old boys.

And for the record, I live in one of the most conservative states in the union.

I think it's hilarious that they're doing the hard sell in Sarah Pailn's "Real America", while avoiding the coastal markets. Doesn't that just reek of corporate cynicism? They think they have to sell it to the "lowest common denominator" in the "fly-over states". That marketing strategy alone is insulting. And they they add injury to the insult by making people sit through 2 hours of total clap-trap. Niiiiiice. Stay classy, Paramount.

I went to go see Ice age yesterday, I thought it was a cute movie,it didn't seem like a very long movie.It seemed like it was only an hour long.

Nice! I'm probably gonna buy the 2-disc edition, but not right away. That one's gonna have to wait until it's a little cheaper. Okay, a lot cheaper, so a year after release or so.

The Hangover's success is pretty easy to explain...it's very funny. A comedy which is actually funny, is always a good bet for success.

People have been bitching about Ryan's character going against canon too. Eh, who cares? Never read the books so that's not something I would even notice.

Oh, and by the way, if you watch the movie, make sure to stay until after the end credits, there's another short scene at the end.

They reviewed the movie on the radio this morning. Said the story was quite thin. I didn't really think so, but maybe the fact that I thought the movie was pretty good doesn't mean that it's a masterpiece. Better not expect too much when you go see it.
