Oops. Forgot to post here that I saw the movie sunday. Raced the clock to get there in time so I had quite the adrenaline rush to start with. Liked the movie. The story, the action was all great. Everytime LePoop was on I just heard Deb's voice singing "the mook, the mook, the mook is on fire... I wish"

I just saw it today. I liked it, but I didn't love it. The thing that killed me was that it was so long.

Saw it. Liked it.

The radio review I heard on Thursday said that the last hour was barely bearable, so I didn't expect a lot. I was actually positively surprised that the story made sense (in a Transformers kind of way) and that the last half hour wasn't just robots ripping each other's heads off. There was a fair deal of that, of course, but somehow I expected it to be more mindless than it actually was. The film even had its own Jar Jar Binks, but worse because they were twins. I could have done without those.

What annoyed me, though, is that they ran the movie in two parts with a 10 minute pause in the middle (where they probably had to change film rolls). What is this, Lord of the Rings?

I could have also done without the chick. They should have given Sam a girl who was, looks-wise, a little less Paris Hilton, and, you know, a little more normal. Somehow the visual didn't fit together with the rest of the character, but of course that's just my opinion.

Oh, and Illinois? One of the Decepticons actually does have balls. They're even joking about it. Simmons has a line that goes something like, "I am directly below the enemy's scrotum."

Since I would say the majority of people here are looking forward to the movie, here's a few links to more positive reviews. Because, believe it or not, some people actually liked the movie.

Since ET assaulted my eyeballs with the fugly mook last night and I had to turn three more channels away to escape him (he was everywhere), I feel that I need my own mall revenge. So I share with you the funniest, snarkiest movie review I've read in years.

Well said, Illinois. I agree with you 100% Exactly what I expect of this movie. I like action movies with a bit of comedy. And romance but the couple didn't assure me in the first Transformers. They really didn't seem comfortable together. Forced. Lack of acting skills?

I don't give a crap if LePoo is on this movie or not. If they replaced him with Chris, I'd of course be 100 times more interested to see it. Again and again and again. I think Chris would be great in this kind of movie. Can't wait for Infestation.

It seems to open in Germany on the 25th. It's showing in my favorite theater in OV, so I'm probably gonna watch it Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

And you know what? I'm still gonna watch it. I've never cared much for reviews. It's all selective perception anyway. People who are looking forward to the movie (or any movie) will most likely single out positive reviews. People who are determined to dislike a movie before even seeing it will single out negative reviews.

It opens next week, right?

You know I don't give a crap about this stupid movie anymore than I care about a piece of lint stuck to the bottom of my shoe, but I always read Scott Mendelson on HuffPo and the following headline made me skim his review:

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen represents a shocking amount of effort and skill going into a product of little entertainment value and even less significance.

Gee, I'm so shocked.
