Lindsey: I'm sending out good thoughts and wishes to your friend.

Everyone on this forum needs to spend Halloween together. One Halloween all of the regulars need to at least. What do you all think of that idea?

Think that sounds like a great idea.  I just slept on Halloween smile

The talk with my friend went as I expected it to go. She was upset but understanding and now, most importantly, everything is A OKAY smile so although my weekend was horrible, my week will be that much better.

lol Samsy, I know what you mean!  Hope you feel better.

I'm pumped about Conan's return tonight on TBS! Can't wait to see him!  Him and George Lopez are good back to back I think.

I think I might buy the anniversary editions next month smile Caught a little bit of Back to the Future on abc family.
I was reading an interesting Entertainment Weekly issue about reunions and anniversaries of shows and movies and they interviewed Michael J. Fox and Lea Thompson.  Here's the video of the interview:

I really admire Michael J. Fox.  What he did in this movie was brilliant and I admire his foundation for parkinsons.  Interesting man.

I have to deliver some bad news tonight to a good friend.  Please send out good thoughts and prayers. I'm really nervous about it.

#955 Re: Square Eyes » The Social Network » 07 Nov 10 :: 22:18

That's very cool.  Zuckerberg seems like a neat guy although the movie might not portray him in this light smile

#956 Re: Square Eyes » Jill Clayburgh dead at 66 » 07 Nov 10 :: 22:16

yes it is.  I know she has a small part in Gyllenhaal and Ann Hathaway's new movie "Love and Other Drugs." They only had wonderful things to say about her.  I want to rent some of her older movies.

lol  I hear ya.

I did see a James Franco interview on E! News.  He had some interesting things to say about the movie.

He's also in a few episodes of Criminal Minds in the early seasons.  He in Charisma Carpenter did an ABC family movie too a a few years ago called Relative Chaos: http://www.tvguide.com/celebrities/char … 8312/47631.  I kind of wanted to see it but didn't get the chance to.

I loved the one that Emma Caulfield and Jason Priestly were in: I Want to Marry Ryan Banks.  I watch it each time its on! smile Puts me in a good mood!

James Franco will be on Jay Leno tonight talking about 127 Hours.  I'd record it, but ever since Conan, I don't watch Jay Leno anymore!.  lol  Silly I know.

#961 Re: Square Eyes » Misc Stuff » 03 Nov 10 :: 01:15

I hear its really good. I need to watch it!

#962 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 02 Nov 10 :: 14:52

I know it is Deb.  It always is but you'll always have your memories.  We still share funny stories about my dogs all the time!  Makes me feel better when we do! smile

Still not feeling 100%.  Know i need one more day of rest.  The guilt of not being at work is just so hard to deal with. I know its better to get rest than make myself worse but I still hate it just the same.

#963 Re: Joan of Arcadia » Random JoA Stuff... » 02 Nov 10 :: 04:58

I had a mini joan a thon this weekend and watched the first disc of the second season.  I love the friendships made there and Adam and Joan before the break up.  I always stop somewhere around the middle because I don't want to find out what happens!

I got to thinking though: Why was Judith killed?  I always enjoyed her character on the show and thought sprague grayden brought a lot to the friends in a weird way.  Especially Friedman.

#964 Re: Square Eyes » Lost » 02 Nov 10 :: 04:53

I know what you mean though. I watched the first disc of the 2nd season and then quit after that because I didn't want to see the rest!  I'm excited about the prostpects of my Lost bet.  To watch Season 1 through Season 6 all the way through with bonus features and everything. I've owned them forever and I think I've only watched everything from season 1.  I think I'm feeling the pulse because Lost usually comes on in January and this is what I've been doing for the past six years around Thanksgiving Christmas time.  THat's impressive to some and not to others! Lol.  I don't know what I'm going to do with out it.

Close after the series finale I had a dream  about Lost.  That I moved on the island, looking at the same mountains like in lost.  There was a candle burning and when I went to sleep ( in the dream) my candle burnt out.  I woke (in reality) feeling peaceful and calm.  I had to have closure from the show in my own dreams!! big_smile  I have actually thought about doing missionary work with indigenous tribes in Hawaii teaching english as a second language.  That's why I'm going back to get my Masters in TESOL.  Really off to bed for me otherwise I'll be ranting like this as I tend to do late in the evenings from exhaustion! lol

#965 Re: Square Eyes » Lost » 02 Nov 10 :: 04:04

Since I've been sick this weekend i've been watching random things such as Joan of Arcadia, Lord of the Rings, Atonment, and now I'm on to Lost.  I'm feeling better now but balling crying watching Charlie die at the end of season 3!  I think Through the Looking Glass 1 &2 (when they start the flashfowards) and Season 6 "The End" are the best series endings for the entire show.  I know a lot of people didn't like the series finale, but I really enjoyed it.  Gives me chills to think about it sometimes!  That's my random vent of the evening.

#966 Re: Square Eyes » The Hobbit » 02 Nov 10 :: 01:02

I was just reading in EW at the dr.'s office that Jackson thinks the Hobbit should be confirmed soon into the future.  There is suggestion that MGM is being bought out by another company & that this might speend up confirming the prequal to the LOTR.

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Bond-23- … 16373.html

I loved the Lord of the Ring Series, but I don't know how I feel yet about The Hobbit.  IT was my least favorite book of the series that's for sure.  I'll still probably see it if it eventually gets made.

I was also reading in Entertainment weekly about tv & movie reunions issue with the Lord of the Rings.  Brought back memories smile I was suprised to see there wasn't a lord of the Rings thread here.  but I thought I'd share the EW link:

Sounded like an interesting person. I'll have to check out his books!  Especially if they finish this last one of his.  I pray he is at peace.

#968 Re: Square Eyes » Post your recent DVD purchases » 01 Nov 10 :: 15:46

It's really great.  I enjoyed it at least! I think you can watch it on video on demand on amazon if you're desperate to see it.  The dvd release Nov. 11th.

#969 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 01 Nov 10 :: 15:44

Hope you are doing okay Deb! :hug: Thinking about you all weekend!

I went to work this morning but had to get one of the T.A.'s to cover me because I started weezing and coughing really badly.  The first time in a year I've had to do this.  I always feel guilty whenever I leave or call in sick, especially leaving my students with a sub.  I know my students are in good hands with the T.A. she's a great teacher.

She looks great!  Didn't she play a doctor on a short lived nbc series? Or am I imagining this?  I bet she was fantastic on House.

#975 Re: Square Eyes » Lost » 30 Oct 10 :: 20:22

Netflix did not give it a lot of stars for me based on my other ratings.  Even though I'm from Texas, I'm not much of a football person.  I hear from EVERYONE that its good though so I will probably give it a try sometime!  I heard Speed Racer was good too, although Netflix didn't give it a lot of stars for me either! smile
