It is, it is under "self".  It is weird how they do that sometimes, even though they are playing fictionalized versions of themselves.

#153 Re: Square Eyes » Stephen J. Cannell has died » 02 Oct 10 :: 09:35

There was a pilot done last spring for an updated "rockford files".  I know a lot of people who worked on it, and the unanimous opinion was that it was horrible.  none of the charm, and no answering machine at the beginning.

It showed how really perfect the original was, and how easily it could have missed.  It was definately my favorite of his shows.

And who will Castle play cards with now?

Yes, it is wrong, but then I keep seeing him in a dress.

Guess what show I am suppose to start on on Monday.  It is apparently only for 2 months (filling a hole in my schedule, while someone is away for 2 months).  I am suppose to start on episode 4, am going to spend the weekend getting to know the show.

He died on Saturday, but it got over shadowed by Kevin McCarthy dying.  I really loved Harold Gould, especially in "The Sting"  But again lots of great guest appearances and character parts.

I guess the pods finally got him.

Always liked the guy, probably because he eventually showed up in a guest role on every show I watched as a kid.  And he was still working and still looked pretty good.

Pretty interesting and kind of cool,  very early color movies from 1922

The agent talent relationship is a strange thing.  And you would be surprised how little agents do to get their clients work.  I have known a lot of people who have agents, and almost all of the work any of them get, is work they get themselves, through their friends, coworkers, or people who have seen and like their work.  Agents mainly work out contracts, and make sure their clients get paid.

The trilogy question is interesting because one will always be the weakest (has to be unless they are all equal), so the question is, is the weak one still worth watching outside of being part of the trilogy.  For me, Toy story and the original star wars yes.  Lord of the rings no (I really didn't like the second one, and I remembered while watching it I hadn't liked the second book either).  Godfather definately not, first 2 great, 3rd one ugh.  I will throw in here sergio Leone's "man with no name" trilogy where I think they are all good. We'll see if christopher Nolan can pull it off with his 3rd Batman movie (but history isn't on his side).

Completely pointless remake, the original is perfect.  The Coens normally get my interest, but then again the last time they did a remake (ladykillers) it was a complete train wreck.  So, I will probably take a pass on this one

Haven't seen it yet, maybe this weekend.  I'll let you know

#163 Re: Chris On Screen » Life During Wartime (STRONG LANGUAGE - ADULT CONTENT) » 06 Aug 10 :: 20:30

I think some people just want to "discover" something to show how smart they are.  The movies are clear, so they are basing it on nothing.

#165 Re: Chris On Screen » Criminal Minds » 29 Jul 10 :: 22:51

Guess I'll have to watch criminal minds now

#166 Re: All About Chris » 6 Degrees of Chris » 27 Jul 10 :: 07:11

I couldn't think of anything if it were not for one movie,

James Caviezel was in the Thin Red Line with Sean Penn
who was in Fast Times at ridgemont High with Forest Whitaker
who was in American Gun with....

Tyrone Power

I looked her up, and it really is weird.  She starred in the Private Benjamin tv series, and then really nothing (a couple of guest appearances).  Wonder what the story is?

#168 Re: All About Chris » 6 Degrees of Chris » 24 Jul 10 :: 19:55

Did she do anything but Airplane???

Anyway, Lorna Patterson was in Airplane with Julie Hagerty
who was in a midsummers night sex comedy with Mary Steenburgen
who was in JOA with...

Patrick Dempsey

I love the throw away in the article about Melissa Gibert's broken back!!  No big deal she has a broken back.

#170 Re: Square Eyes » The Runaways/Joan Jett/Kristen Stewart - WARNING: ADULT CONTENT » 21 Jul 10 :: 22:44

Just saw it on dvd.  I was a big fan of Joan Jett in the 80s, but never really got into the Runaways.  And I have never really enjoyed the rock and roller destroyed by drugs genre of movies.  So there are my bias.

I liked the first half a lot, the forming of the group part was pretty interesting.  But once it got into the group falling apart second half, it became pretty predictable (seen it toooo many times).  The most positive thing I can say about the movie is how good I thought Stewart was as Joan(and I will admit I didn't like the casting), but she was perfect.  I completely accepted her as Joan jett.  The one major thing I will take away from this film is some anticipation for Stewart's post-Twilight career.  Fanning wasn't nearly as successful(I didn't think she was terrible, she just never quite clicked in the part).
Kind of an interesting little movie, kind of traditional.  Not memorable, but I enjoyed it enough while I was watching it.

#172 Re: Chris On Screen » Life During Wartime (STRONG LANGUAGE - ADULT CONTENT) » 12 Jul 10 :: 00:12

I actually think the description is pretty close to how I felt the movie was.  I didn't find the "humor" to be funny.  I don't think ALL of the characters are despicable, but more than just the father is.  I thought several others were as well, the obscene phone caller, and his neighbor (the description leaves out that it turns out she wasn't raped, and may not have even been with the guy, she killed him because he rejected her).  and a few others.  Some of the characters are just repulsive.

I liked LDW more, because there is some humanity in the film, and you can care about the characters  a little.

Yes it is, but it was after midnight when I wrote it, and I can't spell after midnight.

#174 Re: All About Chris » 6 Degrees of Chris » 11 Jul 10 :: 09:12

Jemaine Clement is in Dinner for Schmucks with Steve Carrell
who was in the 40 Year Old Virgin with Seth Rogan
who was in Fanboys with.....

Jeff Goldbloom
