Re: Forum changes

I just upgraded our forum from version 1.2.14 to 1.2.15. Apparently they fixed some security bugs. Please let me know if something doesn't work right, I'll try to fix it. So far everything seems to be in order.

Re: Forum changes

So far I don't notice any difference. Thanks for updating, though.

Re: Forum changes

The Register page wasn't working, but I fixed that. I think everything's working now, but I might not have looked everywhere. Also, the update might have swallowed some features that were there before. If anything's missing, let me know (for instance it didn't how the birtday on the Profile page after the update, but I fixed that too).

Great, now you can tell Nathalie and her mom to try it again! We need them on the board! wink

Re: Forum changes

No, I don't think so. They had problems logging in, not registering. I don't think that's fixed, there were no changes to the login page in the upgrade. But since Gloria isn't replying to my e-mails when I was asking her what exactly isn't working on her end and the PunBB developpers also had no idea about what might be wrong, I have given up. It's a darn shame, but at this point I don't know what to do without more info from them. I wish they'd just e-mail us Nathalie's story, so that at least we can post it.

Re: Forum changes

Just to let you know, I have changed a setting for the timezones for the forum today, so it might be that the times are not displayed correctly for you guys anymore. For some reason, when I entered my timezone in my user profile (GMT +1), the time in the forum wasn't the actual time here. Don't know if that's the case for everyone else as well. And I think I figured out how to fix that.

So I suggest that you all check your user profile and change your individual timezone to the one you're actually in. Please also make sure that you change the language setting to English because for some reason it always defaults to Bulgarian and you might end up with a Cyrililc profile, once you hit the Submit button. wink

Yep, it changed to Bulgarian for me.  Had to change it back.

Re: Forum changes

Maybe you've always had your time on CET and never noticed that it was displaying the wrong time. wink I didn't change people's profiles. I just changed a setting for the timezones so that the time might not display right for you anymore. And that can be fixed by changing the timezone in your own profile.

Let's take a look at the forum banner options we have. Which one should we use?

Re: Forum changes

The old one had varied expressions.  Pensive, dramatic, smiling.  #1 has too much teeth, too much smiling.  #2, eh, the pic from The Invisible is OK, but eh.  #3, I like better than the other two.  But there's no drama in any of these versions.  It's two personal appearances and one smiling acting moment.  I'd like to see something more striking up there.

Re: Forum changes

MY personal choice would be #3, with a more dramatic (or at least non-smiling) pic in the center. I'll find something.  We can keep them all and maybe rotate them around once in a while, if that's not a bunch of trouble.

Re: Forum changes

My vote goes to Nr. 1. I don't really know why but I think the pics in the other ones don't really fit together.

I agree with Deb about the all smiling and teeth.  But out of those ones, I'm the odd one out and am going with #2.

Re: Forum changes

It definitely needs some broodiness in it. If we can't have Broody!Adam anymore, we need Broody!Pete or Broody!Linus. wink

Re: Forum changes

Oh, and would it be possible to fade the background noise around the faces?  It's distracting, especially in the SDCC pic.
