Wow, these pictures are GREAT! Wonderful find, Deb. I don't think there's much of a chance that we'll ever get to see the film, but who knows? I'm still gonna be pretty busy with post-Fantasydays things this week, but I'll see what I can do about wallpapers. I added the pictures to the gallery last night and I've also posted a news bulletin about it. Next on my list is screen- and vidcaps from the Criminal Minds episode (which I have yet to watch).

Here's a thought, why can't we write to the e-mail address given on the Facebook page and ask for hi-res images or possibly more material?

Well, yesterday, I posted on Thule's Facebook wall to ask if we could snag those pics for our gallery and to say that if there's anything we can do to help promote the film, they should let us know. Let's see if they contact us. If they do, we can ask for more high-res images. Unless you want to take that plunge and go ahead and ask. Either way, I think if we play our hand carefully, we might be able to connect with these folks.

But yeah, I definitely prefer that you watch Criminal Minds for your own enjoyment before you worry about anything else.

BTW, it's pronounced TOO-lee, if anyone was wondering.

It does sound cool, but what exactly does it mean? I've never heard of that before, sorry. :clueless:

It means that it was made as a student's thesis to earn his master's degree from AFI.

as a scandinavian, I'd pronounce it Thule like scandies do i guess phonetically it would go like Thoo-le. i guess. Scandies pronounce "U" as english speakers would pronounce "uh" in "uh-oh, my bad!". heh. badly explained..
but ok. lets say Too-le if that's how they say its said. I'll just stop confusing you now.. I just thought maybe I could be helpful since Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Denmark are taught to be the "North lands" in 3rd grade geography here, and I know something about how they all speak.. and if someone didn't know Greenland belongs to Denmark.

I'd like to see a whole bunch of Master's Thesis films. I'll bet I'd love them. I imagine the makers would have fresh eyes ot the industry but already learned enough about the tech and stuff to do a good job.

Yeah, I'd love to see the final product but I'll doubt that'll ever happen. I guess this is just another project to add to the list of stuff we'll never get to see. I was really interested in seeing all those short films he did a few years ago (You know, Sugar Mountain, etc ...) but nowadays I'm sure it won't get past the wishful thinking ... *sigh*

Finally got in touch with the guy who was an intern on the movie. He didn't have a personal pics of Chris. I don't think he even knows who the heck Chris is. But he did have this one cool cast & crew pic. Can you spot Chris...?

I asked Dean about when and where the shoot was and here's what he said...

It went for about two weeks with some additional days for re-shoots a few months later, I was not available for the re-shoot days so I don't know how long that actually went.
Most of the film was shot at Pointe Studios in Hawthorne, California, the reshoots were shot on the sound stage at the AFI campus.

X marks the spot. Or in this case: The big red cross that sticks out. I think that's Chris. The guy in the uniform, standing. White frost beard. the other guy's hand on his shoulder. huh? I'm pretty sure that's him by the way he carries his body. Can't really make out the face. but maybe the Maarquette eyebrows are sticking out a bit?
I'll go stand in my stalker's shame-corner now. I can't believe I can recognize this guy from his posture... :embarrassed:

I agree, I would put my money on that being Chris. Like you said...there is SOMETHING about the way he holds himself. Meh at least I assume that it is him.

Yep, that's him. I'm trying to get a high res version of that shot. Since he's the center of the pic, with the director's arm around him, I wonder if he really is the main guy...

I have confirmed through Dean Newberry, who worked on the film, that Chris did indeed replace Justin Chatwin in the LEAD in Thule! Woohoo!
