I would join you guys, but I'm afraid 7am on a Monday is a little too early for me.

Yeah, and we're sorry about that, Susanna. New Zealand is just really difficult to coordinate with the rest of us, timezone-wise. If you have one of these Mondays off, we usually stay in the chat for a while, so we might still be there at 8 or 9 AM your time. So far we've only really met up with more than just Deb, Anne and me once. Seems like real life gets in the way sometimes. If you'd really like to chat with us, we could try to set up a better time for you every now and then. Let us know.

In fact it's also not easy to coordinate our timezone with Deb's becaue we have to get up early on Monday, so we can't stay up all night. But I am sure we will figure something out if we really wanna chat with each other.

Excuse me, I just had another add request from a person I don't know. Does this person come from here? Then please make clear who you are.

If it's someone with "ihaveattitudeproblems" in their name, it's Shoothoops.

These days, I'm home on Saturdays mostly. I used to go to a movie every Saturday. I'd like to do that again. Guess I'll be around in the meantime.

Saturdays work for me too, usually. Maybe not every Saturday (I will be busy next week and might not be home in the evening), but in general I'm a YES on this one.

I just launched our own chat module, there's now a link up there in the forum menu. It's not great and it's a little laggy, but it was the best I could find. I originally set it up so you need to register before you can log in, but I think you can also log in without a password. It's a little confusing and I haven't quite figured everything about it out yet. But for now I hope it's usable and you guys start to engage there if you want.
I wanted to see if I can integrate it into the forum, so you automatically log in with your forum username, but that seems to be highly complicated and I'm a total PHP beginner. Maybe, if I have the patience and time, I'll keep fiddling with it. But for now it'll have to do like it is.
Let me know if it works for you. Or if not, what your issues are with it. Brenna, you said the window always comes to the front on your Mac. I saw that there is a tickbox for that in the Options. See if that was checked for you, maybe?

Yeah, it looks good to me. I'm in there now, but not for long. Gotta dry my hair and run to the grocery store.

Oh, that wasn't with your chatroom, it was happening to me on Yahoo Messenger. I think the Mac version of that program is still in beta. No worries, though.

Oh, right, that was YM. Okay, even better. Well... you can always try meebo.com if you wanna chat on Yahoo Messenger and don't wanna get all frustrated about the software. It's a browser utility that works with a range of chat programs, including YM. I have no idea if it's Mac compatible, though.

So are we chatting tonight and if we are, where are we going to meet?

Just in case anyone's looking for our Chat module, I took it down because there were security issues. Apparently we were hacked and used as spam server because of a vulnerability in the script this week. Our admin alerted me to the issue and since I don't know enough PHP to fix it, we decided to get rid of it altogether. I might look into alternatives at some point, but most of us have Yahoo Messenger anyway, so if any of you guys would like to chat with us, let us know and we'll give you our Yahoo IDs. I also mentioned meebo.com up there, which is always a viable option if you have a Yahoo ID but don't want to install the Yahoo Messenger.
Also, if you receive spam e-mail with senders that use our domain as e-mail address, please note that we are aware of the fact and have fixed the vulnerability they were exploiting by deleting the chat. However, these e-mails will still be floating around the world wide web and we would like to make clear that we do not condone spam and we are surely not sending it ourselves. (I had two spam e-mails be teejay@chris-marquette.com and one by info@chris-marquette.com in my mailbox today, so they are actually out there.)

I'm having spam emails from the website addresses every day, but Thunderbird moves them directly to the Spam folder. Thank God. I don't want another offer to enlarge "that thing I don't have".

This is different. Now we're receiving spam from our own addresses, being sent by our own mail server. I received two from info@chris-marquette.com and two from teejay@chris-marquette today, offering me Viagra for 74% off. I've asked Support if we can do anything about it, but I doubt we can. I put a message on our front page, just in case people who don't know Chris and receive spam from our address decide to check out the site that it apparently comes from.
