Beautiful...Best Buy is in the process of upgrading/screwingup my computer right now. I am in Ottawa visiting the parents and hogging their computer...so slow.

Take a look at Rove's shiny new desktop image I made especially for him.
Focus your attention on my Start button.

Unchallenged. (Which was a little too long for a Start button substitution.)

Interesting that you built that today. I barely even had the desire to turn the page of my calendar to Februar(y). I wish there was a rock big enough for me to crawl under.

Well, to be honest I didn't make the wally today. I just forgot to post it. I made it the day before I fetched Rove from the store because I wanted something snazzy for when I had him up and running. I just played with the Start button thing today and thought it was so cute I wanted to share it.

What you need is a wally of Chris as Cooper! Kyle, where's that picture you promised?

I now you already had the wally. You did show it to us. It's just having the energy to work on any of it today...

I just found a 545 MB hard drive in my closet. That's right, folks, 500 MEGAbytes. And to imagine that used to be state of the art a decade or so ago. My current drive is 500 GIGAbytes. That's a factor of 1000.
Then again, in those days Windows used to take up just a few MBs of space. Nowadays you need 5 or more GB for Windows alone...

Haha, that's hilarious. My friend remembers the day his dad brought home a new computer with a 6 GB hard drive. He said out loud, "We'll never need more space!"

Here's more computer geekery. I just received my self-training book for PHP 6 and MySQL 5. Hopefully I'll find it interesting enough to learn more about PHP. That way I might actually start to understand how our message board and some other features on the site are programmed and just don't make changes blindly the way other people tell me.

I must have gone megalomaniac. I got Rove's new "face" from the store today. Take a look:
It's a wonderful 24" widescreen HP monitor. I'm amazed. I don't know where to look. It's huge! So here goes my yearly bonus payment. Though that'll be the last big electronic purchase for a while. And, geez, on the photo it looks way smaller than it actually is.

Definitely. LOL
And I should stop watching Apple add clips, they always have really cool music. The newest one for me is the MacBook Air song. I love it! LOL Plus I'd like to have a Macbook Air. Or at least a Macbook. I can use CDs and DVDs there. LOL I swear, as soon as I have enough money, I am going to buy a Mac and give the other laptop back to my father. (Can I have Cooper 2 then? LOL)

Oooh, MacBooks are way cool! And as nifty as the new MacBook Air sounds, it only really makes sense if you're looking for something very small and lightweight. I understand it doesn't even have a CD/DVD drive, so you'd have to have an external one if you wanted one. The hard drive is only 60 Gigs. For that kind of money, if you don't mind your laptop being a little bigger and heavier, you can surely find something more powerful.
Anne, I meant to ask you, how much RAM does Cooper have? A friend of mine also bought a laptop that had Vista pre-installed. And it kept crashing, just like yours. Thorsten upgraded his RAM from 1 GB to 3 GB, and he says ever since then it's been running just fine. Doesn't crash anymore at all. Maybe that's also your problem...

Uhm. How do I find out how much RAM I have?

Apparently in Vista it's Systemsteuerung - System und Wartung - System. Look for something with RAM on the screen you see.
Does this help?
This one obviously has 4 GB RAM.
