Re: Randomness

I made the drive up to Papi's, mainly because I wanted to run by the used bookstore and get more Strieber and it's halfway between here and the cafe.  Why not?  It wasn't a bad drive at all and it was totally worth it.  The food was great and I have half of it left for later as well as a slice of mango pie for dessert.  If that place was a little closer I'd become a regular.  There's so much more on the menu that I wanna try.

That same little shopping center also has a sushi joint, a pizza bar, a Mexican restaurant, and an Indian grocery store.  Very cool.

Re: Randomness

I've never had Cuban food before and Papi's sounds really good. I'm going to Atlanta this Wednesday. Maybe I'll be able to go.  big_smile

Some of my favorite food, really.  Hope you get to go.  The prices are very good too.

Re: Randomness

We just finished going to an Indian (from India) wedding.  It was 5 nights of events (the actual wedding was all day Sat.).  And the food was amazing, (I am a big fan of Indian food, because I love spicy food)

Re: Randomness

That sounds great, Rick.  I've seen Indian weddings in the movies and they're quite beautiful.  I love the food too, but it doesn't like me very much.  Seems that all my favorite food tries to destroy my stomach.  But I eat it anyway.

Re: Randomness

The bride is Sikk, and the groom is Hindu so we got a good taste of both cultures (and they did 2 ceremonies one sikk, one Hindu) The Groom arrived on a horse in full formal costume, and the bride had gone to India to purchase her clothes (6 of the most amazingly beautiful Saaris )  The Dancing and the music and the clothes.  It was a unique opportunity to be exposed to the real culture of others.  And it was absolutely fasinating and glorious.

Plus we are close friends with the bride and her family, and they were all so happy, so it was basically perfect.

Re: Randomness

Amazing.  Once in a lifetime thing, probably.  My best friend Steph will be so jealous when I tell her about it.  She's really fascinated with India and has a few friends at work now who are Indian.

Re: Randomness

Yeah lucky noone was hurt though and the tanker truck went up but the site didnt explode. Apparently it all started with some idiot smoking while filling up his car. But i have to agree with the comments posted on site. This guy has such a thick Aussie accent. I love the "Jeeeesus Christ" and "Tell mum it exploded"

I would also like to add that those people are very very very stupid. Even if there is a little fire at a petrol station. RUN RUN RUN, dont stay and film it.

You're certainly right about that, Kate.

We don't have memorial day in the UK. We did have a bank holiday yesterday, so unless that would count?

Re: Randomness

I'm sad. :crying: I'm watching "Kate & Leopold" and it makes me think of my ex-crush.
And that guy doesn't even look like Hugh Jackman at all. AT ALL. And it still makes me sad and I still have to think about him. WHY in God's name does the perfect man only exist on TV??? :witsend:

Re: Randomness

Don't do that, Simon.  Things will get better.  Probably doesn't seem like it right now, but they will.  You have someone you can pour it all out to?  Sometimes that helps.

Re: Randomness

Samsy, its ok...we all love Hugh Jackman. Just remember the "perfect" guy on tv is just written from someone's imagination but that doesnt mean there are great guys out there. Gorgeous, generous, loving guys that are appreciative.....SIGH yes i am single too, but i have faith that i will eventually find a guy that will make me happy that wants to be with me. Even if it has to be a puppy dog!
