Re: Randomness

We don't really have those here, Anne.  I asked the lady at the store in LA to check and see if there were any Georgia locations and there were not.  Wish we did have one.  And a Vans store so I could replace my shoes that Maynie ruined.  Got those in San Diego in '03.

Re: Randomness

Oh, I see. Can't you order them online?
But hey, at least the shoes aren't as pricey as they're here in Germany. That's the reason why I waited until I made it to the US to finally buy a pair, if though they weren't the color I wanted. roll

Re: Randomness

Sorry to hear that Mel.  I lost my Lacey a few years back and I still miss her.  Dixie's doing fine.  She's in pain, but she's got some meds so we're keeping her comfortable.  The doc says she should be find by Monday and able to eat dry dog food again.  In the meantime, she gets pampered.

I'm so sorry, Mel! Losing the pet you grew up with is never easy. I lost my cat Momo last year. I got her when I was 7.

Re: Randomness

It's the new one, Varekai. And it's the only one I've seen so far. They'll be performing Saltimbanco in Dortmund in August. If they still have decent tickets by the time I know whether we're having an investigator meeting around that time or not, I might go and watch that one too.

Re: Randomness

I feel like I've joined the land of the living again. A person never really realizes how much (s)he has been cooked up at home until (s)he spends a whole week amongst other people, a lot of people, huh?! lol Last week I had this course by the unemployment office, that I actually requested for. A lot of the lectures were familliar to me from my years in the v-college, but I really enjoyed the company. I even had a little girl crush on a girl name Ninja. Should have known she'd have a name like that. I do like ninjas. lol. Anyhoo. I wanted the course because it allowed me to get these two "passports" for free, that'd cost me 80€/each other wise. One for hygiene and one for alcohol distributing. So now i'm allowed to work in a restaurant  big_smile I'd like that. And I like it that this widens my opportunities to get a job. I'm now licensed to spill! ...you a drink!

I very much liked having the car all week last week, and again today. I'll even have it tomorrow since J has to go out of town for work so he got the work-van from the crane company he works for. I'm gonna use it to go out to town tomorrow after noon, when R gets off school. I'm gonna take some more clothes to the flea market. I like the recycling idea + it would be nice if it actually got us some more money. I've storaged all these kids clothes for 8yrs because people i know might need them and ask for them, or so they always hint. But it never happens and we need the storage space to other things, so there! Too bad the booth I rented is too small. I got actually surprised of how much of sell-able clothes we have. And i priced them pretty low so hopefully some of them have gone already, so I can put in some more... I still have so many bags and boxes to check for more... After flea market, I think I'll go wander around Ikea for an hour just so I get the kids in the daycare-spot there for and hour lol They like it. I like "window shopping". Its a match made in decorating-heaven.

Other than that, I don't have much plans for my near future. Just more of the ordinary: stay at home, take care of the kids and house, shop for food... I've got an appointment at the unemployment office again on friday. My friend asked me out for saturday night. I had thought of asking her, actually, but I don't know if the money-sitz allows me yet...

What's everyone else been up to? One week in the "real world" and I'm totally estranged from the web-world!

Re: Randomness

Well, I am finally home again (had to stay at my parents's place for a week due to the eye surgery). Sunday I had enough and requested to go home. I mean, I love my parents but I can't bear staying at their house for longer than a week now. I need my books, my dvds, my own bed ... you get the idea. The eye is recovering good. It doesn't feel that itchy anymore.
Today I went to the theatre once more (2010 is THE movie year for me, you know ...) and had the chance to experience Jeff Bridges' and Colin Farrell's singing talents. They're not that bad actually. LOL I actually think Bridges deserves his Oscar. I also had another nice chat with the theatre owner, which is another reason I love going there. The next movie I am going to see there will probably be a 3D one since my "Bonus card" is full again (they give you one movie for free when you get seven stamps on your card) and I want to try if there is a difference now that my eye isn't cross-eyed anymore. Not that I think there will be one - but you can never know, right?
Oh, and before theatre I went to my favorite bookstore and spent a hilariously big amount of money on new books ... but I am still hoping to reach my goal for this year (50 books) although I am already waaaay behind. LOL
Job search is going .... smoothly, I guess. I haven't found new suitable ones for my applications yet. I really hope this is going to change soon. I need a job. I can't go on like that much longer ....

Re: Randomness

Well, it's Memorial Day in America, which means we honor our fallen soldiers with cookouts and fireworks and family gatherings, stuff like that.  I'm going down to Dave's for a cookout at about 6 PM, but Bodhi's coming to stay for a couple of weeks while his moms are on vacation in California.  He'll probably be here in about half an hour.  I've had myself a nice, fairly lazy weekend.  Dave's b'day was Saturday, so we went out for a nice meal and then yesterday, I did the usual chores.  It was supposed to storm all weekend, but that never manifested in my area.  Dixie's feelin a lot better, though she hasn't completely gotten her appetite back.

Re: Randomness

I've had a pretty eventful time lately. I've been on a business trip to Raleigh, NC -- when was this? April? Early May? I don't even remember. Lars and I have been doing some hiking near this area recently on the weekends. Then I went to visit a friend in Copenhagen the weekend before last. This weekend I've actually bought a new wooden cupboard for the living room, plus the 42" flatscreen LED TV to go with it. Lovin' it already. Now I just need all of Chris's movies on Blu-ray! big_smile I saw Cirque du Soleil on Sunday, which was awesome and inspiring. And since we have a bank holiday on Thursday, I've taken Friday off, so it's another short week. I like!

Re: Randomness

Well, Bodhi's out in the backyard now.  He rolled around in the mud and got himself all dirty and he won't come back in the house.  It's about to storm soon.  Maybe he'll have a shower and get cleaned up.
