Re: Randomness

I'm just ready for some serious rain.  In the part of Texas where I live, we're experiencing the second-worst drought in our history.  I heard on the radio that the first was in the 50s and lasted nearly 7 years!  Here's hoping we don't beat the record.

Re: Randomness

I love the IMDb IGNORE list.  Even though I have only ever placed two pathetic losers on it, it's still a wonderful thing.  smile

Re: Randomness

Yeah, ignore lists are great. But the imdb boards are so full of idiots and morons that I just stay away from them completely.

Re: Randomness

check out this amazing piece about Phil Hartman

http://www.lettersofnote.com/2011/08/am … -nail.html

I met him once at a birthday party for a child who was friends with my son and Phil's daughter.  Phil spent most of the party talking to my father-in-law (who had no idea who Phil was).  they had a wonderful chat about world war 2.  Phil was so naturally nice and normal.  (as well as amazingly talented in so many areas)  What a waste...

Yeah, that was such a horrible thing!  I think about those children every once in awhile.  I hope they're doing okay.

Re: Randomness

I just read the piece.  What a nice guy he was.

That whole thing was so senseless.  It's become all too common, but it always gives me such a chill when I watch the news and see police and social workers carrying children out of a house with blankets over their heads so that they don't take pictures of them.  I'm glad that these children have, for the most part, been left alone and have (hopefully) had as normal a life as possible.

Sorry you went through all that and all so quickly, Kate. Hope you never have to deal with any of that again.

Re: Randomness

Haha I hope I never have to go through it again either! Feeling ok now, but still waiting for my liver to be back to normal sad Chicken pox attacked my organs! BOO!

Phil Hartman...wow that is VERY sweet and generous of him to take time to write that to his fan. I love hearing things like that. Makes me really admire him more. I was also really shocked when he passed, but I assume everyone was surprised.

Re: Randomness

Phil Hartman seemed like a great man.  I remember his saturday night live cast giving his memorial at an award show and trying to hold back the tears!
Glad you are doing better Kate!  I've never had chicken pox before so I'm praying I won't be on your boat.  Especially since I teach.  I can imagine how hard that was to go through.

A very somber birthday party will take place for me tonight.  Maybe I'll watch some infestation to pick up the mood beforehand.

Re: Randomness

Oh Lindsey....I would recommend getting the vaccination injection. I would not wish what I went through on anybody! Being a teacher I am sure you will catch everything and anything that your kids have, so probably best to prepare yourself!

Re: Randomness

I'm so groggy and ill feeling this weekend, it's annoying. i hate what the colder weather does to me.
Clearly the season has already changed so perhaps it's a time for a new sig too? Just a screen cap from The Rite and some words you might find on the bottom of a bottle while drinking in the dark. lol

Re: Randomness

That's cool, Maria.  I'd like to see some screencaps from that movie.  He was prettyful in it even though his participation was of little consequence.

really? I could have sworn... Well here they are. I must say, these pics don't really do any justice on the movie. I cropped them in such Chris centered way for obvious reasons. wink

Well, it's very much better than nothing at all.   Since I only saw it once, I couldn't even remember what he was wearing.

Re: Randomness

have I told you about the time I was a midwife to our dog when I was a teen? she had 8 puppies. so cute. and all babies smell good. smile it was a great experience. I was very much a dog person then. our dog thought I was its pack. big_smile I raised those puppies to 8 weeks, one of them stayed with us. it ended up with my brother A back where we grew up. her puppy with my other brother T. it's great to have had three generations with us.

I'm watchign Supernatural 5x12. the teenage "warlock" in this episode remind me of Chris so much. He would have been amazing in this role.
