Re: Randomness

Powerful, Lindsey. I still don't want to believe that a person can be so deranged or f***ed up that they think something like this is the right thing to do.

Re: Randomness

The sad part is I don't think he felt it was "right" - most people that are considered psycho-paths or do extremities like this in my opinion, ( and seen in the past...i.e. Columbine) are really emotionally disturbed and don't know right from wrong anymore.  Just pray justice is served!  Apparently he was very non-responsive in court today.

Re: Randomness

Hmmm, we could really get into it on this discussion!  tongue Praying for all lost no matter their beliefs and situations!

On a happier random school note our students closed the achievement gap by an 8 point net growth this year that is huge! congratulations to them considering they are in a disadvantage economically and in their own language.  8o

Re: Randomness

I wish I lived in the part of Finland where people actually have dinner parties. I'd so love to make my yummy salmon as main course for a few grown up people. it's so good I wanna share it. tongue can't take credit for it. salmon itself is pretty devine. I was raised on it really. big_smile

Re: Randomness

It costs so much money to set up a classroom.   yikes It's quite surprising.  Last year I didn't care that much, for some odd reason this year I do.  I guess with 3 years experience I have more ideas of how to build a classroom now!

Re: Randomness

I helped my cousin do that at the start of her year in 1994.  It was fun, but stressful.  And yeah, expensive.  It's way worse now.  But this was in suburban San Diego, and their schools have always struggled.

That's what I've heard sad  My favorite city.  Would love to live there.

Random question:  whats the best way to remove stains off a carpet without a special cleaner.  Any products you'd recommend?  I have an old carpet from a kinder room that was used in circle time.  U know kinders.....  lol

Re: Randomness

Lindsey, I've always had good luck with that Oxy stuff.  You can buy different brands in spray form or mix the powdered stuff with water in your own spray bottle.  I'm sure you could mix it up in a bowl and sponge it on, too.  I've just never tried that.  But that stuff really cleaned up my car carpets and seats, and interior carpets/rugs, too.  Good luck!

I did use it and it did work.  for the stains on the bottom of the carpet.  I'm going to try to mix some other cleaning stuff with clorox powder and see if that will help too.  Room is clean enough and ready enough for students tomorrow!   yikes Can't believe its starting!

Re: Randomness

A successful first two days.  I know this year is going to be difficult, but at least the year hasn't started off that way.  It was great to see the students again.

I was making labels for my library corner section and came across this picture for all my books about dogs!

Re: Randomness

So I think my parents are getting me (or have gotten me) or will get me a dog for my birthday either on my birthday or sometime soon.  A King Charles Spaniel, since I love everything british and british literature.  I thought of naming her Elinor from Sense and Sensibility.  What do you think?
