Re: Randomness

Like I said, I moved into my own place at the beginning of the year and I still don't have internet. But hopefully I will have internet soon. Maybe March, I need my February money for train tickets and other stuff. LOL
I hate being offline during the week. There is nothing else you can do except maybe watching DVDs with your laptop. roll

Hey, off tangent, will there ever be a chat room on the website anytime soon again?

Adam: "No way. Why?
Joan: "Because we're subdefectives and it'd be like deserting the army or something."
Adam: "Oh, no. I don't care if you're a cheerleader, subdefective, or whatever. I just like hanging out with you because.. you're Jane."

Re: Randomness

We had one for a while, but it got hacked and a bunch of spam went out in our name.  TeeJay's been looking for a newer, safer module.

Has she? I don't think she has. wink It's a little difficult because what I can install would be something Flash-based. And I've looked at a bunch of Flash chats and I didn't like any of them that much that I wanna use them permanently. And you'd have to stay on top of things and update it regularly when there's a new version to avoid getting hacked again.

Do you have Yahoo Messenger, Soph? When we're all online, we sometimes meet in a Yahoo conference.

Re: Randomness

Aw, yeah, I understand the hassle; I just wanted to ask to make sure. But no, I do not have Yahoo! messenger. Now that I constantly use my dad's laptop, I might just very well install it again, but on his. Do you guys have it every so often, or just when the majority are online?

Re: Randomness

If more than two of us are online, then we'll usually go into a chat room.  We don't really have a set time to meet anymore.

Re: Randomness

Of course we can set a fixed time for a chat again if people are interested. We used to meet on Sunday afternoons (around 2 or 3 PM EST).

Oh, and evn if you don't have Yahoo Messenger installed on your system, you can still chat on YM via www.meebo.com. All you need is a browser and a Yahoo ID. Deb sometimes uses it in her office where she doesn't have YM. I've used it too. I think it even does conference chats.

Re: Randomness

We don't have a chatroom. On YM you usually see who's online (if people aren't logged in as "invisible"). If we decide to meet for a chat, one of us usually starts a conference. You need to invite people to the conference. So if we go for a chat at a pre-defined time, just be online and make yourself visible to us and someone will invite you to the conference. Well, actually we'd have to add you to our contact list, so we'll need your Yahoo name... Just e-mail it to us or find me with the name labrat_at_home.

Though since I still don't have internet back at home, I won't be on YM the next few days. I might be this weekend, but I don't know yet if everything with the internet connection will work out. Also keep in mind that I'm in the German timezone (GMT +1, which is EST +6).

Re: Randomness

Dude, it's snowing in the ATL!  You think your weather's weird?  We're getting more snow today, in just one day, than we typically get in a whole year.  Pictures to follow as soon as my camera batteries are recharged.  big_smile

Re: Randomness

Holy cow! I always thought it was easier to be cold because you can always wear a jacket, put on a fire, cover yourself with a blanket, etc. to keep warm than when it's hot 'cuz then you'd need shade, a fan or AC. I still stand by that, but my body cannot take the cold anymore! I still like it, but I'm not a fan of shivering (more often than I have).

It's so bad how us Westerners find anything less than 60 degrees "freezing," haha.

Re: Randomness

Funnily enough, this weekend it's very mild here. I actually took off my scarf when I went into town earlier because I was sweating in my fleece jacket. It must have been close to 60 °F (= 15 °C).
