Re: Randomness

It didn't feel like a 100% safe trip. Coach trip to a camel park was a nightmare. Basically just one road on the side of a cliff. If you looked out the window, it looked like you was flying. If something went wrong, you could have easily gone off the side into a very deep drop.

And after all that free time i had resting, it wasn't untill the plane journey home until i relised my birthday is less than a month away. lol

Re: Randomness

It wouldn't have been that bad if it was just for a few minutes, but when its for atleast 45 minutes, its quite challenging for some people to sit through.

If i knew what it was going to be like, i would have avoided it like some other problems i could have avoided too.

Re: Randomness

I've got a University placement set for next year. I'm gonna use up this year to get some money (from what would be my first ever job). Might try starting some driving tests. What i would love to do is to spend some months in drama classes before i start Uni. I used to love acting when i was younger, and i just wish i stayed interested in it.

Sounds pretty good. What are you gonna study at uni?

Going back to acting sounds cool, I hope you find a way to do it. Remember to live your dreams if you can.

Re: Randomness

I should be studying Film and Video Production at uni if everything goes as planned.

I hope i can get back into acting, and since watching Into the Wild, i've learnt that if you want something badly, you should just go for it. I would probably still be interested in it now, if something didn't happen in my life which affected me for a long time.

Plus, each school i've been to has had some type of link to an actor, with the exception of my last school. I could give them someone back. tongue

It's nice to have somewhere to talk about topics i am actually interested in. You guys are the only people (other than my brother) that i can actually have decent convosations with on topics i like. I live in an area which seems to be dominated by music as an interest. This is my escape to freedom. lol

I hear ya.  This is my favorite place and my favorite people too.  It'd be great fun to have a new Chris project to talk about.  Hopefully Fanboys will rev up soon, like it's supposed to.

Re: Randomness

Did you guys hear that E-Bay will force everybody to use credit cards to make purchases and use either pay-pal or similar services. Plus eliminating buyers ability to buy with check, cashier's check or money-orders.

I've visited their forums and sure looks like most people are against this, buyers & sellers alike.

I wonder how many people who only used checks/money-orders to buy stuff on e-bay will simply leave.

I know I will leave e-bay once this goes into effect.

Re: Randomness

I use PayPal, but I rarely buy anything from eBay anyway, so I guess it won't matter much to me.  I honestly didn't even know they still accepted checks or money orders.

I guess before it was at the vendor's discretion.  Maybe Ebay thinks they won't get their cut unless they've got their fingers in the collections. :clueless:

Re: Randomness

Doesn't Ebay own Pay-pal?

Which would answer why they want to do this, to increase their bottom line.

One person on their forum posted about a store who changed their policy and would only accept cash or credit card, no checks. And soon that store was bankrupt.

There are many people who don't trust putting out their credit card info on-line, don't have a credit card or just prefer to deal with a check or money-order as payment. Also with the current economy some can't get credit cards or their cards are maxed up so they send a check or money-order to buy stuff off e-bay.

Seems dumb to cut off those customers when I would think they would try to expand their customer base instead of scaring/ forcing these people away and thus downsizing their customer base.

Re: Randomness

I agree, Illinois.  I don't have credit cards anymore, only a debit card.  And I was skittish about using it online for years after my computer got hacked and my bank account got cleaned out -- for $500 more than I had in it.  That was in 2003.  I bought an AirTran airline ticket and a registered for the Creative Screenwriting EXPO online and the very next day, my computer crashed and I began to find out about what happened to by bank account the hard way.  I started getting tons of returned checks.  Back then, the big hack was the "keystroke logger" that people would use to grab your CC info as you typed it onto a site.  Whoever grabbed my debit card number somehow did 4 charges of exactly $400 each at three department stores in Arizona.  It took 5 weeks to get my money back.  And I was unemployed at the time.  It sucked!

Nowadays, my new computer is much more secure, thanks to TeeJay, so I feel safer.  But I only buy from big sites like Amazon.  I don't blame anyone for not trusting online banking/shopping.  Once you get hosed, it's hard not to be scared.

Re: Randomness

Just like you Deb, I only have a debit card.
Also I only buy from amazon.com and have never had a problem at all.

I am so glad I don't have credit card debt. Especially in this economy.
