Re: Randomness

Just got back home from a lovely 2 hour meeting with my friend Katharina in Stuttgart. It was so good to see her again, although it was friggin' cold today! I told her about our trip and let her listen to some parts of the interview we recorded. Now she wants to see some of Chris's stuff! I'll make sure to make her watch JoA soon. smile

Re: Randomness

This weekend is passing by pretty fast. Too fast. And oh how it makes me a bit blue to notice the fact that me and JTT no longer have the lovely texting romance going on when one of us is away some place else.. We've become like an old married couple, I guess.. I just got one message from him saying he's in a bar with his friends, again. Yesterday too. Fine by me that he's having fun. He better remember that fun next time I get the change for something similar.. wink

Re: Randomness

Just got home from my very wet ghost walk. It hasn't seemed to stop raining today. Atleast the weekend is going slow, which is a good thing, before i go back to work on Monday.

It didn't rain here, but it was a very cold day. People were still sitting outside, though. My friend and I noticed that the restaurants and cafés were giving out blankets to their customers, that was kinda cool.

Re: Randomness

My lil' girl didn't want to wear the princess dress and become a zombie princess after all. Visiting her friend she got the idea that she wants to be a ghost. The dull, non imaginative costume. Well, atleast it made my job easier. big_smile
I'm not sure if she had a good time at the party. She seemed a bit down when she came home. Um.. She was propably scared by the spooky costumes, just too ashamed to show the scares.Or maybe someone told her her costume was bad. She wasn't wearing it when she came home. Carried it in her hand, didn't want to touch it anymore. Um.. Makes me think maybe I shouldn't have given in for her wish to wear it. She would have been the prettiest zombie princess ever! smile

I saw a group of girls today, who must have been around 16/17 and everytime someone with a really good costume came up to them, they would scream as if Michael Myers was after them. lol

Cool site. I love photofunia.

Speaking of sites, there's one going around the school i work at and it just proves that there is some twisted people out there. It's called the Tortue Game and that's basically it. You torture a person until they are no more.

Re: Randomness

I made it almost three months without getting seriously injured at Subway.  Today I sliced my finger open during the lunch rush cutting bread.  It was weird because there was actually a paramedic in line who took me out to an ambulance and stitched me up, then gave me some painkillers but there's no hospitals or anything in the area.  Then I went back to work like normal.

But nearly three months when I work with sharp knives constantly... that's a victory.

OUCH!  But aren't you lucky there was someone there to take care of you?  TeeJay tried to slice the end of her thumb off when we were in LA.  I think she just wanted to wear a Bandaid on her thumb like Pete in The Invisible.  She even took a pic of it.  tongue

Re: Randomness

LOL. Yep. Still have the scar to show for it. My LA scar. Hope it never goes away completely. wink I also still have a big, ugly hematoma under my left ringfinger fingernail. It's slowly growing out now. I hit the fingernail with my honkin' big SLR camera in San Francisco. (Not intentionally!)

And, hey, usually I'm not all that accident prone. Laura, you're a little like Bella, aren't you? wink But I must admit I had a bit of an embarrassing moment when I cut my finger in LA. It bled a good bit, but not overly so. I was aware enough to go get a paper towel to put it around my thumb after I cut it, but then I started feeling woozy. I actually had to lie on the floor with my feet up for, like, five minutes. Major embarrassing moment. Luckily, we were still in our apartment with no one but us around. Apparently I inherited from my mom not doing very well around blood. Strange, I haven't had this problem until about two years ago. And I don't have problems seeing blood on TV. I swear, it's another stupid brain trick. And I wish it would go away.

Deb was being dramatic, too. smile I didn't nearly slice anything off. I just cut into my thumb near the nail. It wasn't near the tip of the thumb or anything.

Nah, I just like makin' fun of you --- mainly because I'm usually the one breaking limbs and stuff on vacation.  wink

We kind of all had our fair share of discomfort on the trip, didn't we?  I had my stomach problems and Anne had her bad night.  But it was all worth it I'd say.

I'm exactly like Bella, even though I apparently have more Alice-like features.   My friend told me once I would have been perfect to play Alice... if I wasn't so much like Bella.

Re: Randomness

Do you guys have perks at work? Bonus' or something?

This just came to mind yesterday when JTT said the firm he works for is having an exclusive movie viewing of the new Bond flick for it's employees. I've never before heard of a thing like that. Have you? Sometimes this firm really puzzles me how they from time to time seem to be courting the employees. I guess the boss' noticed the employees were getting unsatisfied about certain things.. There has been other small gifts in the past too. And then there's the gym-membership for all the empoyees but JTT never has used it. I wish he did. He should have a hobby.

Re: Randomness

No, we don't have perks like that either. The only thing I can think of is that our cafeteria is subsidized by the company, so eating there is quite cheap. And we get at least one professional training seminar once a year. Something we can choose ourselves, but it has to make sense for your position and skills.

Re: Randomness

Oh, we're talking about accidents and injuries now, huh? big_smile I have some marks of that kind too. There's some burn marks in my hands, very small, barely noticeable. They're from cooking! lol I never remember to watch out for all things splashing on the frying pan. :embarrassed: Also from the same reason I don't have a full sence of feeling on all of my fingertips.

Then there's this 2-3 centimeters (about an inch) tall thin scar in my left wrist. It's from august 1996. I was visiting my dad in a smallest of all small towns and found someone's pet rabbit wondering around. A friend of mine knew whose it was so I decided to carry it to it's home. The damn thing scrathed me! yikes Missed the main vain only by 2 centimeters. I'll bet people think it's from something else...

Yeah, and that's not the half of it. Things like this happened to me since very early age. When I was 2-3 years old, two things happened that still show. I fell playing rough games with my brothers and had a band-aid under my nose. It itched like hell so I scrathed it. The bandaid went into a roll and up to my nose. That's where my memories end. Mom says there was several doctors trying to get it out and in the process they did some damage to my nose. So it's a bit lopsided. :embarrassed: The other big thing at age two was that a big bench fell over on my toes. I had my shoes on and I didn't cry easily as a child so mom thought I was ok. And then in the evening when she took my shoes of she noticed my toes were black. She thought they were just bruises so she didn't take me to the hospital. I guess there was some mild fracturing anyway since my toes have always felt weird. Like not a full sence of feeling there either. And when I was five I almost drown on a big ditch spring time. My little brother picked me up from there laughing. That one scared me emonationally, I never learned to swim. A small fear of water...

I guess I should say I'm lucky. There should be more injuries when thinking about how I was as a kid. I climbed trees and jumped off from roof tops. Skiied in the woods. Drove on a snowmobile like the devil was after me. All things crazy and wild. We were pretty freely raised. It's a wonder I never broke any bones. I guess that's thanks to drinking so much milk. The worst injury I've ever had was just 1,5 years ago. I was visiting my sister and she lives next to town school. So her kids wanted to go there to do some athletics. The kids were jumping long jump and dared me to try. Especially after I'd told them I competed on that when I was a kid. Oh well, I was a pretty bony kid, and... less so now days. So suprise suprise, I twisted my angle. The ligaments really. So I got to walk on crutches for six weeks... Imagine the joy of traveling back home with a leg like that. In a train for six hours. Alone with kids age 6 months, 1,5 years and 5 years. Thank God there's still helpful people in the world! big_smile The luggage was a pain anyway..

Re: Randomness

Gee other than scratches from cats that my parents owned when I was a kid, not too much.

The only time I had to go to the ER was when I got bit by a dog on my mouth and had to get stitches for my lip.

Never had a broken bone or even a fracture.

I was kind of sickly when I was a kid though. I use to get bad tonsillitis and I was really close to having to go in and get my tonsils removed. Luckily that didn't happen and I still have them today.

Yeah, an Edward would be nice big_smile.   It hurts more than it did yesterday, but still not very badly.  The cut's fairly small, only from the tip of my finger to my first knuckle.  It's just very deep.

I will NEVER EVER spend a whole weekend at my parents's place again. This is BORING! Nothing's on TV and I didn't think of taking my DVDs with me. And I forgot my Twilight book at home, so I have nothing to read either. D'uh!

Re: Randomness

Um.. So yesterday was the night JTT had the movie night. I got to go with him, kind of a last minute thing. I've never been a fan of Bond, especially the new ones. Some older ones I've liked. I decided to go with JTT 'cause I thought I couldn't possibly ever have a bad time in that movie theater. I love the place. And it's been so long since I last got to the movies with JTT, I wanted some us-time.

Well, I would have had more fun sticking needles under my nails. Not only was the Quantum of Silence the worst Bond movie I've ever seen. I'd say it was a bad movie, period. It was like watching a Van Damme- movie. I just sat there, waiting for it to be over. Longest 90 minutes of my life. There was only one scene I liked a bit and it was at the end of the movie with the fire and explosions. That's weird I don't usually like explosions. I liked the bond girl and she got her revenge. It was the first Bond I saw with Craig and I don't like him. He even looks more like a villain than a hero. There was this one moment in the end of the movie when one of the villains screamed a bit like Chris did in Just friends. big_smile

There was free martinis for everyone before the movie started. There's a bar in the downstairs of our theater. We sat there for half an hour before the movie started.

Re: Randomness

Sorry to hear you had such a lousy time, Maria. Sitting through movies you end up not liking is such a pain in the butt. I think if someone asked me to watch a movie I already know I'm not gonna like, I would point-blank refuse. At least if it was recreational. Or I would watch a different movie. Of course it's different when it's a work function and a social event. Being underdressed also sucks, especially when you're not doing it on purpose. Awkward!

But look at it this way: Today can only be better. smile

Just for the record: I'm not into James Bond either. In fact, I've not seen a single James Bond movie in my life. And I don't have any urge to either. I'm sure a lot of them are really good, it's just not my thing.

Re: Randomness

I have seen some of the James Bond movies, but I don't really like the newer ones. I hate it when people make me watch movies I know I'm not going to like, too. My ex-best friend Kris used to do that a lot. Nowadays I can watch what I like, that's better. wink

I always watch a film from start to finish, even if i know it's likely to be bad. I always see it as fair to watch it in full before making an opinion on it.

On a side note, i'm a HUGE James Bond fan.
