So yesterday's high here was around -2. This morning it went down to -3 and expecting a high of 10 above.
We had a Wind Chill Warning yesterday because of the cold temps and winds of up to 50 MPH. Still under a Wind Chill Advisory this morning.
At least today is the last brutally cold day and we could be in the 40's by the end of the week with rain. I can't wait till it warms up.

Wow, there seems to be A LOT of snow in the US right now. They just said it's a "snow chaos" on the news.

Yeah, it's above zero. 1 above to be exact.
I think the Weather Channel said that Wisconsin has something like 31 inches of snow so far and I think it's their 6 snowiest December on record.

Elaine said last night that they're getting a lot in Michigan too.

No snow here for Christmas. Weather forecast says it's gonna be rainy and unpleasant.

Sorry to hear that, Simon. I brought home a cold from the UK last week too. And a lot of my colleagues at work are sick as well. X-mas bug, huh? Hope you get better soon.

Sorry Simon. Lots of that going around everywhere. Not with me though. A miraculous exception to my "two weeks in flu-two weeks healthy-two weeks in flu-and so on" - rhythm. Must be all the vitamins I've been taking lately. And even remembered to take them everyday. I highly recommend...
I just wrapped about 20 gifts (no papercuts so no bloodhungry vampires lurking anywhere.. ). About 4-5 to each of my own kids and one for my nephews and niece and Godson. I still have to get one for my other Godson and hubby and some other people. JTT's sister said we shouldn't buy presents for her and her hubby and all their kids; just one for our Godson, their youngest. But I can't do that. I just can't leave anyone without or I'll feel awful, especially with their other kids. I don't give a crap if they didn't get anything for me or all my kids. I'm not counting. I just like giving...
Hope you get better soon, Simon; you too Tina. *huggie* Drink a lot of warm drinks and so on. You know the drill. I hope you have someone to take care of you. I'm sure someone lovely is gonna visit you in dreamland; dressed in a cute little nurse's alphet and all!

Thanks, but I'm all good again. Cold came and went... and will hopefully stay away for another year or so.

There seems to be a flu outbreak atm in the UK. I was hoping with a few days left till Christmas, i can avoid it but thanks to my brother and his inability to cover his mouth whilst coughing, i now feel terrible. I'm just hoping it will be gone by Thursday.

Well said, Maria. I'm the same way. I wish more people would want to give instead of receive.

It's a heat wave, right now it's 18 degrees. That's 3 times warmer then it was last night.
Of course the trade off is even more snow.

Because the printers are shut down already. I thought I could leave a little earlier but then the Junior came and gave me some stupid job to do. And now it's only half an hour until our little christmas celebration starts. I wonder what kind of wine I'll get this year. LOL

Major water main break in Montgomery County Bethesda, Maryland.
They're rescuing people from their cars right now. They were doing it via helicopter, but now by boat.
They said a 4 to 5 foot wall of water came down the street. Right now it looks like the cars are in the middle of the rapids.

I guess it was a great birthday. We were meeting with my brothers and some friends at our favorite Italian restaurant and I had my most favorite meal. This was the first time I actually managed to eat the whole portion. That was great. I didn't eat anything for lunch because of that.

We had freezing rain go through last night, roads are terrible.
This is the first time I've ever heard of this happening. The entire town of Lemont, IL. is closed due to the icy roads. For those that don't know, Lemont is a town on a large hill, which on the north side is a river. So because the bridges are iced up and of course the roads are as well, there is no way to safely drive in or out of that town right now.

I've got two 13 year old girls visiting us this weekend. I just gave them 40Euros (56.2378 USD; niece's bd + christmas-pressie) and the hubby drove them to the mall on his way to the other side of the border. Later I'll join the gigglers and go shopping too. To the mall and across to Sweden. There's this huge candystore next to Ikea. Maybe I'll have time for some stores even I haven't visited yet. There's like 20 new ones in the Twincity-area. I'm not really a shoppaholic so... But now I kinda feel like shopping a bit. Not much, a bit. Thus why I had the hubby drive them in advance.. The girls looked like they were bored.
I just picked them up from the trainstation last night around 9pm. Had to drive about 50km to get them. Bad driving weather. I was naughty. I like freaking out people (especially teenagers) driving with me telling them how I don't know how to do everything right. And I actually lost my way for a while. Turned on the wrong crossroads and ended up on a unformilliar neighbourhood. It was a little detour but lasted only a while. Little excitement! I don't wanna be a boring aunt.

I'm done shopping! I won't go again until next summer, I'm sick of it. I had to go thru four stores before I found one shirt that looked good and was on my size. And then I looked for some bra's and undies. I bought D-cup for the first time and still it was too small. I think their focusgroup looks about those models on their windows... I wish I had loads of money.. I'd do plasticsurgery and get some smaller boobs.. and straighten my nose.. But for now: back to mailorder-shopping. Fits better my needs and preferences...
I'm trying to convert another Twilighter I went to the bookstore and bought Twilight in finnish for my niece. I think she would love it if she just took the time to read it. She's all about boys, boys, boys. We just got backhome from the mall. All they did there was to check out guys. And now they went walking 2km to check out boys on a ABC-station (gas station + cafe open 24/7). Was it very wise of me to let them there.. They were talking about hitchging a ride back here... They were changing tops to something sexier and all; like they were 10 years older and going clubing.

Weird December weather.
Friday morning we had freezing rain. Saturday we had highs in the low 60's with thunderstorms. On top of that dense fog and localized flooding. Now on Sunday morning it's below freezing with a chance of a wintery mix.
The best thing is that almost all of the snow melted away. Can actually see the grass again. The only snow that's left is the huge mounds left by snowplows or near driveways.
