Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

We might be able to quote some of what he said tomorrow or so.  Gotta ask permission first.  What he wrote about Witch Mountain was really cute, in my opinion.  big_smile

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

Does anyone know if Chris signs anything that fans send him? I've got a spare Just Friends dvd cover and thought it would look great signed by someone from the film.

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

I'm sure he would sign it if it included a self-addressed and stamped envelope and if we knew where to send it. His agency is United Talent Agency, but the package we once sent there for Chris (a long time ago) never reached him, so I'd be reluctant to send anything to them again. Your safest bet might be to send it to either me or Deb, in case we meet him again. We'd gladly take it and have him sign it, but of course we can't say when (and if) that'll be.

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

I was planning on sending the self-addressed stampled envelope with it, using the address i found on fanmail.biz, which was the United Talent Agency address. Once i get around to actually sending it off to somewhere, i'll let you guys know what the plan is.

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

We also have the address of his manager, but I'm not if that's the right place to send it either. There might be a better chance of getting it back from there, though. Maybe Deb will know something, she knows more about how Hollywood works than I do.

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

Well, we were asked not to send anything to Sam, so it's either take a chance on Shani, or Simon can trust us to get it signed if the September thing comes through.  We won't know for a while yet, though Simon, so it's up to you which way you'd rather go.

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

Well i thought about it, and i've decided that i will keep hold of it until you get confirmation about whether the "September" thing will happen. If it doesn't happen and it doesnt look like you would be meeting Chris, then i will take my chances on sending it a different way.

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

Simon, you're from the UK, aren't you? I guess it would be cheapest for you to send it to me (Germany) in that case. But we'll start talking about that when we know more about the September thing.

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

Actually, he already shared something about his new project that I just found in another interview from two days ago:

Marquette: I'm filming "Race To Witch Mountain" right now. I'm going to be doing a movie right after that one is done. Actually, you'll be the first person to hear this. I'm trying to think if I can actually say it. OK, I can. I'm going to be doing a film called "Kid Cannabis" based on this true story that was in a Rolling Stone article. It's about this 19 year old kid who becomes a drug lord by smuggling drugs across the border between the U.S. and Canada.

M&C: A supporting role?

Marquette: The lead – I'll be playing the guy – and I'm really excited about it. It goes into production in July of this year and should be out in 2009.

More about the movie:

CFI lights up with 'KID CANNABIS'
17 May, 2008 By Wendy Mitchell
Source: Screen

ContentFilm International will handle international sales on Kid Cannabis, written and directed by John Stockwell. ICM will handle North American rights.

Stockwell previously directed Into the Blue, Blue Crush and Crazy Beautiful. The film starts shooting July 2 in Vancouver.

The film stars Chris Marquette and Aaron Yoo with more cast to be announced soon.

The teen comedy, based on a true story from Rolling Stone magazine, is about a high-school drop-out who becomes a multi-million-dollar marijuana mogul.

Ross Dinerstein and Bobby Schwartz of Eleven Eleven will produce with John Stockwell and Nicole Rocklin. Dinerstein said: "John Stockwell is a tremendous filmmaker with a great track record with fact based films."

Jamie Carmichael, President of ContentFilm International, added: "This is going to be a really commercial, high concept film from a great creative team. We're delighted to continue working with Eleven Eleven and to work with John Stockwell on Kid Cannabis."

Re: Miscellaneous Stuff

Oh, and we also got permission from Chris to share his little story about the Witch Mountain shoot with you. Here it is, in his own words. smile

Witch Mountain has been interesting, because it's by far the biggest budget movie I've ever worked on.  So they spare no expense.  And when you work a lot in independent films, this project is a bit of a shock.  It's awesome.  Andy Fickman runs a really entertaining set, and all the actors are great.  Cirian Hinds, Tom Everett Scott and Billy Brown and I basically sit around for hours, reading, watching movies, hanging around crafty, and then we get called to work for a few minutes at the end of the day in some crazy shot where we are running down a smoke filled hallway with sixty swat team guys behind us while explosions are heard everywhere.  So it's always an exciting day at work.
