First thing I ever saw him on was this show that was on in the 90s called "Sisters".  His character was married to Ashley Judd's character.

Re: Misc Stuff

I just found this website that says which shows might still come back this season and when. It's not terribly up to date, though.

HEE!  I'd forgotten that Bette Davis and Christopher Lee (I think that's who that is) were in one of those movies!  Those were fun movies.  There were more than two, weren't there?

Re: Misc Stuff

Yep, that's Christopher Lee.  Only two theatrical releases.  Disney tried to turn it into a series in the late 70's.  That didn't work.  Then, they did a TV remake in the 80's that sucked.  Then, they did another remake in the 90's that sucked even more.  So far the original movies have not been beat.

I remember those 2.

You're not going to believe this - well maybe you will, but it looks like they are making another one called 'Race to Witch Mountain' with The Rock starring.

Yep, that's true, Illinois.  But at least this one is a wee bit more interesting than previous attempts to update the story, despite the presence of the Scorpion King.  lol

Re: Misc Stuff

Uncool...

EXCLUSIVE: I've confirmed that Vince Vaughn has axed both his manager Eric Gold and his agency United Talent. Someone close to Vince just told me he did it by cell phone. He's still with his attorney Debbie Klein. He'd been a UTA client since 1993 (three years before his breakout Swingers, which was partly filmed in the apartment of an agency assistant) and a Gold client since 2005's Wedding Crashers. Vaughn's last movie, Fred Claus did little business. A $20 million a pic star, he recently pacted for a two-year, first-look producing deal with Universal and his Wild West Picture Show Productions which is run by his sister.

He could've at least done it in person, like a man.

Re: Misc Stuff

I don't know if he's arrogant, but likely just made a dumb mistake where to smoke. Evidently in L.A. you can't smoke in certain locations.

Illinois passed a law where you can't smoke in any public place went into effect January.

On July 23, Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) signed a statewide public smoking ban. As of January 1, smoking will be illegal in restaurants, bars, nightclubs, workplaces, and all public buildings. Smoking will also be banned within 15 feet of building entrances, exits, and windows.

Individuals who violate the ban will be fined $100 to $250 per instance. Businesses could be fined at least $250 for the first violation of allowing smoking on their premises. A minimum fine of $2,500 would be doled out to businesses that violated the law three times within one year.

Re: Misc Stuff

I would have to go with arrogant.  Smoking is illegal in almost all buildings in this state.  If you aren't in someone's home, and you are indoors, you can't smoke.  And since it didn't say in the article that it happened in Calabasis (where it is illegal to smoke outdoors in public places), he must have been indoors to get cited, (and they usually ask people to stop smoking before they cite them).  He had to know it was illegal, but he figured they would make an exemption for a "star".

Re: Misc Stuff

Yeah, if it was just this incident that's one thing.  But the whole getting arrested for refusing to leave a Walgreen's at 3 AM when he was asked to on top of this, on top of some onset stories I've heard about him leads me to conclude that he's an arrogant little ass who thinks he's got special rights.  Why?  Because he's been in a few successful movies?  It's either arrogance or stupidity.  Pick one.

Re: Misc Stuff

It is a thing which developes in a lot of actors in this town.  They are surrounded by people who always say yes no matter what (and after Transformers he must have it going on big time).  It doesn't happen to all of them (I would say about half from my experience), but he seems to be becoming a good example of the problem, (remember Lindsey Lohan started like this).

Re: Misc Stuff

People have been saying Shia's a jerk for years though.  I remember reading how he treated an extra on I, Robot and being just appalled.  But maybe I'm spoiled from observing first hand how Chris is with people --- just unbelievably polite and kind.

Re: Misc Stuff

He's very much a seasoned pro, having been in the game for about 15 years now.  And I think he was just raised right.  Still very close to his family.  His mom's such a sweetheart.  He's unbelievably humble.  But it could also be that he's still flying under the radar a bit.  If he ever got super-famous, who knows what would happen?  According to his mom, he doesn't want that anyway --- huge stardom.  He just wants to be a successful, busy actor doing work he can be proud of.

That's one way to go and perhaps he'll have a very long career - perhaps as a character actor.
