Re: Misc Stuff

This sounds cool.  Wish Chris could play this part.  Wonder who they'll get...

Also in the pipeline, we have the oh-so-hot Rosario Dawson, a bigtime genre/comic fan, who will bring us TRUE BELIEVER. It's described as "a quirky, contemporary dramedy about a 20-something comic book nerd who hires a washed-up real-life Superhero to be his crime-fighting sidekick and teach him the ropes. Together, this unlikely duo set out to save the World."

I just realized that there was slightly less than 6 years difference between Dustin Hoffman & Anne Bancroft's ages.  Isn't that bizarre?

Yes and it's society, too.  A thirty-year-old man is young (and can still play a college student.  A 36-year-old woman is a middle-aged man-eating hag.  I'm so glad things are better now than they were when they made "The Graduate"!  A lot of today's female actors are in their 40s, and they're not relegated to playing the heroine's mother or other older character parts.

Anne, early congratulations on your 5,000th post!  partywr7.gif

Re: Misc Stuff

There's a commercial that's been on for weeks (or at least it feels like weeks).  Britney Spears is guest starring on 'How I Met Your Mother' and they keep playing the same line of her's over and over: "can we have sex before we go shopping?"

When is it gonna stop? :witsend:  I'm sick of hearing her say that!

Re: Misc Stuff

In more news from the files of "OMFG! Just Exactly How Retarded Is Harvey Weinstein?  Really?"

Weinstein Co. Buys Marley Story -- But Can't Get His Music

Although The Weinstein Company purchased the movie rights to Rita Marley's book about her late husband, reggae singer Bob Marley, rights to his music did not come along with it, the company learned Monday. Marley's family issued a statement saying that while it had received numerous requests to license his music over the years, "all of them have been declined," including the latest from The Weinstein Company. It made an exception in the case of Martin Scorsese's planned documentary, Marley's son Ziggy said. And in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Marley's music publisher, Chris Blackwell, suggested that Scorsese may have put the kibbosh on the Weinsteins' film project. "Martin Scorsese doesn't want to go out with a competing project," Blackwell said.

(From Studio Briefing Today)

Great, so now he's gonna make a Bob Marley movie without Bob Marley music?  Genius!  I'm sure they'll be lining up to see that one, Fat Bastard!  roll

Harvey's digging himself into a huge money pit.  And you know it's a big one to fit that ass of his.  Hopefully WC won't even attempt it or Scorese can stop them.

Re: Misc Stuff

Confused WTF???

I neither hated nor loved the movie. I just can't really figure it out. But I would watch it a second time if I had nothing better to do, so I guess that means I kinda liked it. And, man, Ryan Reynolds has a  of a body in that movie!

Ryan is always drool-worthy when they let him take off his shirt.  Why do you think I've seen Blade:Trinity so many times?

Re: Misc Stuff

I'm off to see Stop Loss and I'm wearing one of my Fanboys t-shirts because SuperCrapFest Movie is also playing at this theater.  If anybody's looking for me, I should be back around 4:30 or so.  Have a great Saturday everybody.

I looked at the trailer for Stop Loss. Not my kind of thing, but it looked intense. Did you like it, Deb?

Re: Misc Stuff

I did like it, yes.  It's very well done.  Everyone did a really good job, except for some of the accents.  The Iraq stuff was fantastically intense and realistic.  I posted about it in the Chris Co-Stars thread because... Well, go see.

Re: Misc Stuff

I read yesterday that Jake Gyllenhall will become the new Spiderman. Opinions?

I myself liked Tobey well enough, but I don't mind Jake either. As long as the movie's good, I'll watch either one of 'em.
