Re: Misc Stuff

People magazine seemed to like it.

Has anyone seen the trailer's for The Invasion of The Bodysnatchers remake? I like Nicole Kidman, so nothing against her, but like Deb said, isn't there anyone who can make a original Scifi movie anymore? There are some, but most are just remakes.

Besides, The Invasion reminds me of The Faculty, which was a pseudo-remake of IOTB except it kinda played on the concept and mentioned the book and used the book of the bodysnatchers to save themselves. So it wasn't a total cop-out.

Anyone think they'll go see The Invasion?  --Even if it is another generic remake.

Re: Misc Stuff

Hell no!  That's one you'd have to PAY me to sit through.  I wish we could call a moratorium on the following --- at least for one year:

Sequels
Prequels
Comic Book/Video Game/TV Show/Old Toy/Theme Park Ride Adaptations
Remakes
Adam Sandler Movies

Re: Misc Stuff

No kidding. Also be nice if we could do that with celebrities who are in magazines. For me it would be:
Paris Hilton
Angelina Jolie
Brad Pitt
Tom Cruise
Britney Spears
Jessica & Ashlee Simpson(like they are really two different people).

Is your theme park ride adaptations suggesting Final Destination?:/ Then I couldn't agree more!

Re: Misc Stuff

No, I was thinking of Pirates and Haunted Mansion and Country Bears, literal adaptations of actual Disney rides/attractions.  I mean, WTF?  Granted, Pirates doesn't suck.  But you could make 30 Alpha Dogs for what one of those movies cost to produce.

Re: Misc Stuff

Haha! No ride, it was a show where the bears would talk and play music, if I remember correctly. I don't think Disneyland has it anymore, but I used to love it when I was little.

Re: Misc Stuff

At Disneyland it was remodeled into a winnie the pooh ride, although I think it maybe still at Disneyworld, anyone from that part of the world know?

I haven't been to Disneyworld since 1989.  I don't know.

Re: Misc Stuff

Disneyland is still totally fun for me, especially when I go with my friends. I dunno, I still find it entertaining, lol. They have this whole shopping area now between Disneyland and California Adventure called Downtown Disney, and I *love* it there. They do a good job at keeping things fun for the older teens and adults.

But still, I'd choose Six Flags (preferably the one in CA, though I need to check out the one in Jersey while I'm here) or Cedar Point over Disney any day.

Re: Misc Stuff

I've always wanted to go to Cedar Point.  TeeJay and I *might* go to Six Flags Over Georgia while she's here.  I haven't been in a while and haven't ridden our new coaster, Goliath yet.  I've only been to Disneyworld twice.  I enjoyed it both times.  Being a bit of a coaster enthusiast, I'd also like to go to Kennywood someday.  Have you been there, Brenna?

Re: Misc Stuff

Oh, oh! They have Goliath at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California. It's one of my favorites. I wonder if it's exactly the same ride, hmm...

Cedar Point is full of the most intense rides I've ever ridden. The last time I was there was with a friend in 2005, when Top Thrill Dragster was pretty new. That ride is such a rush, wow.

I'm a huge coaster enthusiast as well, have been since I was little. My dad and I used to travel around trying to find good ones to ride, which is how we heard about Cedar Point. But nope, I've never been to Kennywood. I'll get there someday big_smile

Re: Misc Stuff

Well, I'm sure our Goliath is different but similar.  The concept is that it encircles the park and they are different, so it has to be.  Cedar Point is like the Mecca for enthusiasts.  I'll get there one of these days.  Kennywood too.  Maybe I'll win the lottery.

She's a comedian/actress. I think she was in SNL, Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion as the 'goth' person.

Re: Misc Stuff

I haven't seen it. I seen her in Wet Hot American Summer on TV once. I think I kinda watched it since Paul Rudd was in it. That movie is crazy. Man, weird, but funny. Nothing award worthy, but worth a viewing.
Paul Rudd is awesome in it. He plays such a jerk. lol

In that case, you have to see The 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up sometime.  He's wonderful in both of those movies.
