Heehee.  Nah, he's actually always been that ripped.  And all guys SAY they're uncomfortable being a sex symbol.  What a load of crap!  You know they eat it up with a spoon.

But I bet his marriage did crush a lot of men's dreams.

All that's known is that Anchor Bay has the domestic rights to The Open Road and the May plans was to release it theatrically in the late summer.

Hahahaha ok so I am most likely just very slow...But hey.... Last night was watching Dragonball Evolution with my nephews and I got that feeling of "OH OH OH I know that person...where do i know them from" So after many frustrating minutes i decided that IMDB was the way to go. Goku, the main character was none other than Justin Chatwin that played Nick from The Invisible.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I did really enjoyed one of the fight scenes, where he had promised to not fight but was surrounded by guys so he just avoided them the entire time and they ended up hurting themselves. It was done really well and looked cool. My nephews made me replay that scene at least 3 times. I found it kinda bizarre they didnt use an Asian actor though, but it actually kinda worked.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

Warner Bros. is about to decide who will wear the super-powered ring in "Green Lantern," the studio's latest DC Comics movie, and the race has narrowed to Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake.

Along with director Martin Campbell and producers Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti, the studio has spent the past five months searching for the actor to play Hal Jordan, the hot-shot Air Force pilot who is chosen by a dying alien to be his successor in an intergalactic police force known as the Green Lanterns.

The clock is ticking on the decision. The holding deal the studio had on the actors expired Monday, meaning that the three are now free to accept other offers.

The studio ordered up two rounds of screen tests with Cooper, Reynolds and Timberlake. Other actors in the early mix included Michael Fassbender, Henry Cavill and Jared Leto.

Apparently De Line, Campbell and the studio each had a different favorite among the three finalists, making it difficult to come to a consensus.

Another issue affecting the casting process is the rising budget. "Lantern" is a full-blown space epic that is expected to cost between $150 million and $200 million, if not more. Warners would like to have the production costs at a reasonable level before proceeding.

The studio has scheduled the movie for a December 2010 opening.

Cooper is feeling a lot of love from Warners; he's one of the stars of the studio's surprise comedy hit, "The Hangover," which has grossed $210 million domestically.

Reynolds recently starred in a comic-book movie, Fox's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," in which he played "Merc with a Mouth" Deadpool. The character is now being developed for a spinoff in which Reynolds will star. The actor also stars in the romantic comedy "The Proposal."

Timberlake has been steadily building an acting resume, appearing in such dramas as "Alpha Dog" and "Black Snake Moan" while showcasing his comedy chops with appearances on "Saturday Night Live."

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

Well, the Green Lantern role went to Reynolds.

That's ok, but I'm starting to think that Reynolds may be starting to get typecasted for action roles. He was in Blade Trinity, X-Men: Wolverine, the Deadpool spin-off and now Green Lantern.

Actually of the three finalist, I was hoping that JT would have gotten the role. He's proven to be a good actor, both in dramas such as Alpha Dog, Black Snake Moan & Southland Tales as well as comedies such as The Love Guru and his many times hosting SNL. He's physically fit enough to be in a super-hero type of role.

Who knows though, even though he didn't get this role perhaps him being mentioned as one of the finalist may open new doors for him in the near future.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

JT would have to find a way to make his voice sound more... um, what's the word?  Manly?  I like him all right as an actor, but his voice is a wee bit high for a comic book hero.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

Well, his voice is fine to me. But, they could always alter his voice electronically so that's really not a big deal.

They already done that to one of films already.

Years ago he did a film called Edison. A friend made me a copy from a non-U.S. country and his voice was somewhat high pitched.

Months later, Sony released the official U.S. dvd and his voice was electronically altered to a more "manly" level. Plus the Sony release is edited very differently and even adds a few new scenes than the original cut.

And who knows anyway, perhaps even with an unaltered voice it still could have worked since the character wears tights. And we all know what that can do to a man's voice. lol

I was hoping for JT too. It would have been his chance to show that he can be a serious actor, but i can see your point about his voice though. I'm still glad Reynolds got it though.

I just don't want us to get bored with Ryan.  I always thought he was going to be a star one day, but he's exploding all over the place and I'm afraid he'll wear thin before long.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I just got around to watching last week's Nurse Jackie yesterday and I meant to post that I love how Showtime recycles actors.  We had 2 Huff vets in that one --- Blythe Danner, who played Huff's mom and Swoozie Kurtz, who played Beth's mom.  On Nurse Jackie, they played Peter Facinelli's moms.  Yep, Cooper has two mommies.  wink

OK, Alex O'Loughlin, who played Marcus in The Invisible is the lead in a new fall series called Three Rivers.  But that's not the good part.  The good part is that Kate Moennig is also in it as a doctor.  I'm there.

I can't wait to see it.  It's set in Pittsburgh and the hospital looks like UMPC: Presbi, they have a very cool hallway where you can look out over the South Side.  I can't wait.
