He has candy in his pocket! Get it! GET IT!

Because there's something "anomalous" going on in his metaphorical pocket.

Maybe, but I think you gotta be at least a wee bit corruptible already in order to be corrupted.

And here's photographic evidence of why Carl's blood couldn't have splattered on the bank door...
Notice for one that the angle's all wrong, Carl was facing out the door with it wide open to his right. And secondly, like TeeJay said, there are white curtains inside the doors. Oooops. This is what they call a gaffe. All movies have them.
Actually, it's not as big a gaffe as you might think. In the feature commentary, it is explained that there are double doors for when you enter the bank, so there is another pair of doors in front of Carl that leads to the outside. That's where the blood stain is. Theoretically I guess from where Carl is standing when he is shot, it's possible there is blood on that outer pair of doors. But from that relatively small bullet hole on Carl's front, there is no way the blood spatter could have caused such a huge stain on the door.
In the commentary, you learn that the exterior of the bank is a different building than the interior of the bank they used in the movie. They were actually in different towns. The statue you see in front of the bank was built and put there just for the movie because the big intersection there didn't feel right for the small town setting of the movie. It was actually built by Bruton Jones (set designer), whom Deb and I met in person at the set of ROTN. There's a lot of little tidbits explained by Cory and Mike, I found the commentary quite interesting.

Still don't buy it but maybe I will if I ever get to watch with commentary. Had so much to do this weekend, I still haven't gotten around to it.

Watch the scene again where the customer wants to enter the bank during the heist and sees Jackson. I thought it was pretty clear that there's a set of two doors in that scene, but that might also have been a kind of "wishful perception", if you know what I mean.

I don't remember Jackson opening 2 sets of doors to get to that customer. Guess I will have to watch it again. Oh well.

I don't mean when he opens the door for the customer, I mean before that. The customer rings the bell or knocks or something. Jackson assumes it's Carl and runs to the door to open it. He opens the first set of doors to see the customer through the second set of doors. Then he shrinks back into the bank again behind the first set of doors and tells Chauncey about the customer. Or at least that's how I remember it, but I might be wrong. I'll make it a point to watch that scene again when I get home. And also... if Jackson sees the customer through the second set of doors, how would he if there's curtains in front of them? Somehow it doesn't really make a lot of sense anymore.

Here's what my "research" resulted in.
Jackson goes to the door when the bell rings, thinking it is Carl:
He opens the first set of doors:
He sees the customer behind the next set of doors (notice how there are curtains which are open!):
He goes back inside without opening the outside set of doors:
After talking to Chauncey, he goes back to the doors to open them (inside doors in this picture):
The customer comes in, you can see the space between the two sets of doors through the open inside door:
Next are a few pictures of the outside doors with the blood stain:
The blood really appears to be on the glass and not on the curtain. Which, I guess, can be explained by the fact that the curtain was open at first (which we saw on the caps in the Jackson scene) and the curtains were later drawn shut, after Carl was shot. So I guess that part somehow checks out. What still doesn't check out is the amount of blood on the glass. But that's okay, I can totally live with that little inconsistency.
And, man, are we nitpicky or what?

OK, that takes care of some of the problem. But what about this? Carl and Suzy were trying to go out the first set of "inside" doors when Carl was shot, weren't they? Are we supposed to believe that such a huge spray of blood could've reached that outside set of doors? And what about the bullet? If the spray was that powerful, wouldn't the bullet shatter the door glass? If there's such a huge spray, why is there such a little hole in and so little blood on Carl's shirt?

Yes, Carl was almost standing on the threshold of the inner set of doors when Chauncey fired the gun. There must have been at least two or three feet between Carl and the outer set of doors.
You know, you raise a valid point where the bullet is concerned. It was a through-and-through, so where did the bullet go, if not through the door? I don't see a bullet hole in the glass, do you? If the bullet was fast enough, it might pass through the glass without completely shattering it, but this glass door looks pretty intact to me. However, if it first passed through Carl's shoulder, then I'm guessing it was slowed down considerably and might have changed its trajectory as well. It's possible that it didn't even reach the door or went in a slightly different direction after it exited Carl.
And, yep, Carl was too far away from the outer set of doors to create that blood stain, there's not two ways about it. They also say exit wounds are much larger than entry wounds. The hole and blood stain on Carl's shirt should have been bigger. Sorry, Mike, you kinda messed up with this one. (We still love the movie! I promise!)

The gun looked like a .357 to me --- very powerful weapon. At that close range, with a through and through, there's no way the bullet changes direction or even slows down very much. The glass should've shattered.
