I wouldn't mind getting one of the cool Iggy shirts. And I'm not even an Iggy Pop fan!!
I want one too!

I think maybe that last one is between shots. Nobody's even working on his GSW.

I wish for a way to convince Jon to send us more photos. Let's see if he answers my first e-mail.

Wait a minute. Why is Carl even wearing a shirt when he comes out of the bank? Did they put it back on him? His chest is naked when he's lying on the floor of the bank...

Is that even the same shirt he was wearing? Where did the Stooges shirt come from? Was he wearing it under his shirt and tie?

Yeah, looks like the same shirt. No idea where the Stooges shirt came from, but look here, you can only just make out a black collar underneath his shirt:

Yep, you're right. He does have the shirt on leaving the bank, too. Guess they were trying to keep him warm because he was in shock so they put it back on him.

I just rented it and watched it and... I don't even know what to say about it. And I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. The ending has me baffled

I don't even know. I honestly loved the whole story but the ending had me going "what the hell was that?" I think you know what I'm talking about

Laura, this is the SPOILER thread. You can say it out loud here. I'm not mentally capable of guessing today. Speak your mind so we can have a discourse, grrrl!

Haha. Ok. I thought it was an interesting twist making Jackson into a professional bank robber, but I'm not sure if I like that idea. He was very good at it though. But it means there's a very good chance he'll be shot to death by angry police snipers one day.

That would be snipers. I think snippers are special scissors.

I'm sorry that I added a p.

Don't worrry about it.

I think I get it. It's a little weird that all this time they built Jackson's storyline up, this really mysterious character who's been struggling with what to do with his life for the longest time, and then, finally, he decides that he wants to become... a professional bank robber. I was also a little baffled, but mostly in a good way. Though I gotta admit that I didn't really buy it. You can't just go from high school kid to professional bank robber in a day. Not even someone as charming as Jackson.

Am I the only one who thought it was a cool, clever twist? I mean what else were they supposed to do with the guy? Suddenly, he decides to buckle down and try to get into a college? Or he decides to follow his stepdad into the long-haul trucking business? Or he decides to do better at work so he can someday be the manager of Value Basement?
Seriously, tell me a better way they could've ended it. I'm all ears, er, eyes, uh, whatever... :clueless:

No no no, it was a clever twist. Just not a very realistic one. I still liked it, it was very refreshing.

He could have gone to community college for a couple years while he figures it out. Or he could have gotten a job at a bank, like I thought he did originally until I realized his name tag said Dave.

I just posted this on IMDb. He might have become a computer genius to develop a program to help banks protect themselves from robbers or otherwise get a job that helps prevent robbery. But I guess that's a little more boring.

That'll be in the sequel, TeeJay.;) He'll be a successful bank robber for quite awhile, then get a little sloppy and do a little bit of time in a Club Fed kind of prison, and come out and become a consultant to banks, brokerage houses, etc. Sort of like Robert Redford in "Sneakers" or Leonardo DiCaprio in "Catch Me If You Can".

OK, but how do you make this or any of the other suggestions as cinematically interesting as what they did? Pretend you're writing the script and you need to come up with an ending that leaves everyone satisfied...

To come back to the blood-on-the-door discussion, Mike Mayer (yes, the Mike Mayer) just answered my e-mail and told me he couldn't log on to the MB himself. So he asked me to post this for him:
About the blood: When Carl is shot, he is in the small vestibule between the interior of the bank and the outside. He has just opened the interior set of french doors. The exterior set of doors (the ones with the blood stain on it) are in front of him, basically where the camera is. The curtains on the doors in front of Carl are open when he is shot, so the blood could splatter on the windows. After the shooting, Jackson closes the curtains so the cops can not see inside (though this happens off camera). Because we didn't shoot Jackson closing the curtains, and because of confusion about the two sets of doors in the vestibule, I understand the confusion.
Yeah, that's pretty much what we already figured. But still, I say it's way too much blood that's sprayed on the door. We also still wanna hear his take on the bullet. Mike?
