Chris insists that he's going to that but I don't see how since he'll be in Bulgaria.  Maybe they're letting him come back for it, but it seems like a stretch.  Guess we'll see.

Cool.  Thanks, Larry.  Chris Lux hinted at that on IMDb, but he never answered my request for confirmation.

Re: Choose Connor (a.k.a. The Politician)

Hey everyone!

On Friday night I attended the East Coast Premiere of Choose Connor at the Woodstock Film Festival. This film is a singular achievement and the vision of one man, Luke Eberl. As reported in Variety a few days ago, Eberl wrote, directed, produced and edited this film at the age of 19.

Choose Connor a very moving film about hypocrisy. It could take place just about anyplace where power is wielded but in this case it is set amidst a congressman's run for senator, as seen through the eyes of a young idealistic middle school graduate (Alex Linz) with his heart set on public service. The script is sharp and smart -- Eberl is amazingly intelligent and literate and it shows. There are some incredibly memorable lines -- I'll post some later. It's shot quite professionally for someone so young and with little experience behind the camera, and the pacing is just perfect.

The film is chock full of veterans and industry pros -- no doubt you'll recognize many faces. Chris only has one scene but it's very moving and is one of the most pivotal and important moments in the whole movie. But most of all this is Alex Linz's film, along with Escher Holloway as the congressman's nephew and Steven Weber as Congressman Lawrence Connor. Linz is onscreen pretty much from start to finish. He really nailed it.

I had a chance to chat with Eberl and producer James McLean afterward. They spoke so highly of Chris. We could have talked all night but they had another film to get to. Their next stop is Europe -- Choose Connor has been selected for the Rome Film Festival.

Re: Choose Connor (a.k.a. The Politician)

Thanks, Larry.  This movie should've come out a long time ago to capitalize on all the corrupt politician news.  But sleazy politicians are always in the news.  That means this movie will be timeless.

Re: Choose Connor (a.k.a. The Politician)

Thanks for posting your review, Larry.

I actually doubted that the movie might work for a European audience, but then again, there must be corruption and intrigue and lewd conduct in every government or, as you said, any place where there's wielded power. Also, how narrow-minded of me to think that only because this takes place in the US, Europeans might not be interested in it. I surely hope it gains world-wide acclaim, we have only heard very good things about it so far.

We were given permission to post some Choose Connor stills. Unfortunately, Chris isn't on any of them, but I still think they're great. Michael Welch is in two of them and Aaron Himelstein in a bunch of them.

That's awesome.  The gym coach from JoA is in there too.  Normally, I remember her name.  Right now I'm blanking.

Re: Choose Connor (a.k.a. The Politician)

I just found that the Black Bay Entertainment Choose Connor site is linking to our site (to be precise, this thread of the forum and not the actual site):
http://www.blackbayentertainment.com/Si … LINKS.html

They call us "Chris Marquette Fan Club". Fair enough, that applies, I guess. Though I've never really liked the term "fan club" because somehow to me it has a bit of a negative connotation. Only nerds and geeks are in fan clubs, right? Hm.... hmm Wait. I think that does apply after all. big_smile

Could have been Larry, Chris Lux or Luke, I guess. Or maybe someone did some digging online and found us and just linked us without anyone prompting him/her to do so. But I think it's cool too. I just don't know if I wanna be called a "Fan Club".
