Choose Connor will show in competition at the Omaha Film Festival (Feb 16-24, 2008 in Omaha, NE). It'll be shown on these dates:
Tue, Feb 19, 8:30 PM | Westwood Screen 3
Fri, Feb 22, 6:00 PM | Westwood Screen 2
Interestingly, Home of the Giants (starring Haley Joel Osment and Ryan Merriman) will be in the same competition. That's also one of the movies I'd really like to see some day.

Let's take a board field trip! I miss those.
Joan: "Wow. I always thought you'd hate me if I was a cheerleader."
Adam: "No way. Why?
Joan: "Because we're subdefectives and it'd be like deserting the army or something."
Adam: "Oh, no. I don't care if you're a cheerleader, subdefective, or whatever. I just like hanging out with you because.. you're Jane."

That would be awesome. But maybe not for this movie. He's only in one scene. For Charlie Banks I would travel.

Just keep in mind that Chris only has one scene in it... We don't want you to end up being disappointed. If you decide to indeed go. Or were you just joking?

No, I was really just kidding! I'd have considered it, but it would entail driving through Oklahoma. ;):o I can definitely wait for the DVD.

I always wanted to go to New York, but I guess Philly would be great too. And once I had that thing about going to Pittsburgh. LOL

Our US investigator meeting might be in Chicago in April or May. I hope it is, I have wanted to go there for years. But then again, I'll probably be so busy with other stuff that I won't have much time to see anything of the city at all. I'll only be there for three days tops.

I hope you get to go! I've never made it to Chicago. If othing else, maybe you can see that skyline from your hotel room window.
I was in Milwaukee once (on business). I should've stayed an extra day and taken the train into Chicago. But it was January and MUCH colder than I'm used to.

Chicago would be great too. My mom and me were actually planning to visit New Orleans. But then Katrina came ... Now my mom doesn't want to go anymore. I can't understand that actually. I still wanna go. There are so many cool cities in the US. LOL

Chicago, to me, was very claustrophobic. Elaine flew me up there for the weekend and flew over to meet me from Detroit once. It was a week after my mom died and she wanted to take me to a ballgame at Wrigley Field. I've never experienced anything like that. It was just a crush of people. Aside from going to the game, the only other thing we really got to do in just two days was this festival boat launch thing. I can't remember what it was called. That was really fun. I big party in the harbor. Illinois probably knows what I'm talking about. It was a huge event. Now, admittedly, I was a bit zombied out and sad from losing my mom when I was there. But mainly, I came away from Chicago thinking I could never live in a city like that. People on top of people on top of people. I couldn't wait to get back to my house and my yard and my green city. TeeJay, you've seen how we live down here. If you go to Chicago, I'd be very interested in your impression of it VS Atlanta.

If the meeting takes place there and I do get to see some of the city, I'll let you know. We're not sure about the venue yet. Might end up being Washington DC or maybe also Florida or New York. Somewhere on the east coast or at least east-ish. And one things's for sure: I definitely won't be going to any ballgame while I'm there.

DC's pretty cool. I didn't get to see much of it, but it was certainly fascinating. Tons to do. And a lot of it is very pretty. Same with Baltimore. Camden Yard is my favorite ballpark that I've seen a game at so far.

Maybe one of these years some of you can come up and we can hit the Toronto Film Festival (only if something of Chris's is screening of course). It's like the number 2 film festival in the world after Cannes. It's held in September.

Luke & Chris...
This afternoon, a number of regulars will drop by the girl's small round table: "Mitch," a "writer" who used to live in Maui and now lives in his van with his dog; "Mark," who last week pitched the girls a celebrity cooking show idea that featured Ricky Martin; and Luke, Frankie Muniz and a leggy Canadian named Jessica who had a bit part in Muniz's film Agent Cody Banks. One of Luke's other best friends, 18-year-old Chris Marquette, who plays Linderman in Freddy vs. Jason, and who looks eerily like a mini–John Cusack, will also do a swing-by.
One of the other aspects of life at the Oakwood that can add to its Peyton Placeness, or worse yet, Survivor-like quality, is that everyone doesn't always achieve the same level of success at the same time. For example, two of Luke's best friends, Chris and Frankie, both of whom Hallee has known since she was a little kid, have been working nonstop recently, whereas Luke hasn't booked an acting gig in a while.
"I'm so happy for them," says Luke, sincerely. "It's wonderful. But when all my good friends are working and stuff, it's difficult. It's true, to some extent it's trashed my self-esteem. But, obviously, I have enough faith in myself to be out here doing what I'm doing. It's sort of that spine-of-steel mentality." Luke admits there is also an art to dealing with those who have achieved less than yourself professionally.
"You try to help all the people you care about as much as you can, definitely. But at the same time you gotta be careful that you don't burn out the connections for yourself."
