Re: Choose Connor (a.k.a. The Politician)

I'm fairly certain Luke will be there. Assuming nothing else gets in the way, I should be going and will report back as usual. This was one film I definitely want to see again. It was one of my favorites of the year and, even though Chris only has one scene, it's THE pivotal one in the movie.

Re: Choose Connor (a.k.a. The Politician)

Well, eventually, we hope. They are aggressively pursuing a theatrical deal right now, hence the sudden string of festival appearances. Ideally a distributor will see them at MethodFest or Philly etc. and want to acquire it.

I've seen the film and I can tell you hat it has a LOT more commercial potential than Daze. Nothing against Daze, of course. tongue

Re: Choose Connor (a.k.a. The Politician)

Choose Connor has been picked up for North American distribution by Strand Releasing. Here is the blurb from indieWIRE:

North American rights to Luke Eberl's "Choose Connor" have been acquired by Strand Releasing. The film, fresh from Outfest in Los Angeles, is described as a political thriller. It stars Steven Weber and Alex Linx. Making his feature directing debut, Eberl starred as an actor in Tim Burton's "Planet of the Apes" and also had a role in Clint Eastwood's "Letters from Iwo Jima." Jon Gerrans from Strand negotiated the deal with Lev Ginsburg of Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren & Richman, L.L.P. on behalf of Eberl. "Choose Connor" also screened at the Rome, Woodstock and Cinevegas film festivals. In the film, a Congressman (Weber) meets a teenaged student (Linz) who becomes involved in a web of political intrigue

Cool. Hope they release it on DVD before long. I don't think there's any chance I'll get to watch this in theaters without German dubbing.

Here is my story on it, which will go up at 10 locations:

(with Chris mention)

I'm waiting to find out about a theatrical release. Strand is known primarily as a gay-themed DVD distributor but also puts out films theatrically.

Thanks so much. smile Besides here, it's up at my 3 blogs, Indie Film Spotlight, 4 IMDb boards, Digg.com, and I sent it out as a MySpace bulletin. It will get picked up by Google Blogs (Indie Film Spotlight) and Google News (Digg).

Unfortunately, I can't really mention Michael (I did post it on his IMDb board), even though it's on his resume and he has two credits at the end, because it will be picked up by all the Twilight sites and he's really not in it at all. It wouldn't be fair to him or them, especially if it is released theatrically.

He will be in the DVD deleted scenes (which I've seen, and they're AWESOME -- he plays a cross-dresser) but that's really not for wide public dissemination yet.
