Hey, whose Liam? Do you have a son? 6 could be 2006, huh?
Liam's my best friend's son, she just died in September. He is my Godson though, even though there's a very good chance now that I'll never see him again . 6 is 2006, April 9th.

Wait, why is that, Laura?

Liam's dad, Dan made a promise a long time ago that if something ever happened to Whinnie, he'd keep her friends out of Liam's life. So far, he's doing a really good job of it, none of us even know where they're living now. Hopefully he'll get better as time goes on, but I know that I won't see Liam at Christmas.

That sucks! So just like that, he's ripped away from everyone he knows and loves. What an amazing asshole that guy must be.

I know. I feel so bad for the little guy. Not only does he lose his mother, he loses the man he saw as his father, and all of the people who basically helped Whin raise him after she left Dan. Luckily, Whin's mom is going out of her way to see him though, I think she knows where they live. Once Shawn gets everything back together, he'll probably put up a fight to see him too.
She used to act like Dan was such a monster. I met this broken boy at the funeral and I didn't see how she talked so bad about him constantly. I'm seeing it now.
Honestly, I'm not in a hurry to see him again until things get "better"... he looks too much like Whinnie. And I really think Liam will just need some time to adjust, he'll see us and be like "you're always with Mommy, where is she?" so maybe it's better for now if he gets used to his new family.

I guess that's true. It's all just so sad. I don't know how any of you cope with this. I never really lost anyone until my grandparents and I was already well into my 20's by then. And I guess we all expect our grandparents to go when they start getting old and sick. It wasn't until I suddenly lost both my dads back-to-back in 2000 that I really felt what I would call a devastating loss. Losing my mom in 2003 was the worst though.

Oh, so sad. Poor kid. Poor you. I feel horrible for all of you. *hug*
I always cry when I see in the news that a child is dead or has lost his/her parent... Well, just one of the things that makes me cry when no-one is around to see.. Up 'till now I've only lost some old people taht were expected to go soon. It was pretty tough to lose JTT's dad couple of years back. He was just 50. First time ever I sobbed openly in his funeral. Sweetest grandpa ever to my kids. I got lycky with the in-laws. Great people.. Miss him so bad... JTT fell to pieces infront of me when he got the call that he had passed unecpected. All I could do was to hold him.. Then I was terrified he was gonna drive off the road when he left to his parent's place just after he had cried for a while..Sad memories..

Yeah... honestly, I think a child is dead and a child did lose his mother at the same time. Whinnie was only 21.
Ok... to take this thread out of the extremely depressing turn it's taken, 8-1-2
