That's a very fair assessment. I watched it last night and I gotta say I enjoyed it much more the second time around. By then, I'd already accepted its flaws and was able to just enjoy it for what it is. Basically a rock & roll love story. And I think all the performances are great, with Kristen and Michael Shannon going toe-to-toe over who was best.

It's out. I got mine Tuesday and Spent the last 2 nights devouring it all. The making of featurette is pretty cool. The commentary is hilarious.

Woohoo! My theatre is the most awesome theatre in the whole world! Not only they gave me a free ticket to see Eclipse tomorrow, they're also going to have The Runaways from August 19th! Yayayay!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing:

Aaaah, jealousy! LOL Oh well, I'm going to see the movie in less than two weeks anyway and my friend is going to send me the DVD as soon as she arrived in the US, which is actually two days earlier. This is the first time that I'm going to see the movie in the theatre and then get the DVD right after that. LOL

Just got back home from the theatre! The movie ROCKED the big screen, even though only eight people were there.
I was the only one who watched the credits until the end and when I was about to leave one of the theatre staff members asked me how I liked it and I said "I wanna dye my hair black and start to learn how to play the guitar." LOL

Well, it WAS the second time for me, too. Watched it online a while ago. I do have the feeling though that it was a slightly changed version. Which is actually great because that way I got to see two different films. Haha. My friend's going to send me the DVD soon. Can't wait!

That's the opposite of what I did. We saw it in the theater first, then I watched the DVD. I liked it so much better the second time. Probably because I was no longer disappointed by what it's not and can now appreciate it for what it is.

I don't really get what's the opposite here, but well ... I just think it's a great movie, no matter what version I watch. I think the one I saw online was a ripoff from a test version of the movie, not a DVD rip. Are there any differences between the theatre version and the DVD version? Oh well, I guess I'll find out once the DVD has arrived here.
And can I just point out that I LOVE how Kristen sings "I Love Playing With Fire"? They should have put that on the soundtrack, too.

There's no difference between the theatrical and DVD cuts of the movie. And there are no deleted scenes on the DVD, which sucks. I'm still upset that they didn't have the whole ILPWF performance in the movie, or put the song on the soundtrack. It was absolutely perfect.

NO DELETED SCENES??? NOOOOO!!!! Are they NUTS??? GAH! Deleted scenes are the one thing I look forward to the most on a DVD. They're already missing on my Remember Me one. They really want to ruin it for me. Grrr.

Oh yeah, they definitely should have kept the ILPWF performance. Or at least put it on the DVD as an extra.

I read about that on Twitter. But I kind of hate like Hollywood life is promoting this ... the gender swap thing has been out for months and it was also pretty clear that it's not going to be your typical family movie. But well, those are the gossip sites. They will never go away. I still think it's going to be an interesting thing if they do it in the right way.
