Oh yeah, the long-rumored Whedon-free Buffy. I'll tell you what's going to happen with that one. It'll land with a huge thud. Because a Buffy with no Whedon is utterly pointless. It'll probably be as bad as Gus Van Sant's color shot-by-shot Psycho remake.

So now someone wants to make a big budget, big screen adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand? OK. How in the hell can you fit THAT book into one normal-length feature film? You can't. Which is why a mini-series was made. A brilliant mini-series, I might add. I've probably seen it 7-8 times all the way through. I always get sucked in whenever I run across it. One of the things that makes it so special is how perfect the casting is. Especially Gary Sinese as Stu Redman. No one on earth could do better with that role. He was born to play that guy, in my opinion.

I don't know how they can get by with any less than 2 films of this book. But will people go for that? I don't know.

All that said, I'd like to nominate Chris for the role of Nick Andros. Nick is a deaf mute, but he's a great character. And we all know Chris doesn't need dialogue to be an effective actor...

It is, but I don't know if you can find it in your Region from a seller in Europe. If you can, I promise it's worth it. It's a great story, really well-told.

The region is not the problem, I've got a codefree DVD player. I'll check cd-wow, that's where I buy most of my American DVDs.

EDIT: I checked amazon and it's even out on DVD in Germany. And it's not that expensive. I am seriously tempted now. Will put it on my To buy List.

Nadine doesn't actually give birth to Flagg's child. It'd be spoiling things to tell you why. She's a really interesting character, the second most prominent female role in the story, after Frannie Goldmsith (who DOES give birth). Nadine is fascinating because she's incredibly conflicted. She falls in love with good guy Larry, but he falls for someone else. When he casts her aside, she turns to bad guy, Harold and eventually falls into Flagg's clutches. Which was the plan all along. She really goes through a tremendous amount of drama. It'd be an incredible showcase for an actress of Amber's caliber.
