Re: Book Thread

It's a great book, but very sad.  I just loaned my copy to Tisha.

Re: Book Thread

I've got two books I really want to read, but never get the reading vibe and time to read at the same time. One is Maggie Stiefvater's Forever and the other is Game of thrones.  I don't get this thing I get ever so often that I can't concentrate on reading long enough to get hooked on the book. there's always something on the way. busy thoughts or life. uh. I'm so excited to finish the Stiefvater's saga.

Re: Book Thread

I started reading The Passage.  Its good.  However I have a hard time retaining really fast reads like that so i've had to go back through the first chapter a couple of times honestly to figure out what's been going on! I've enjoyed what I've read so far though!

Re: Book Thread

I boroughed David and Leigh Eddings' Regina's song from the library last week. I've been itching to read more by them since I read the two big sagas when I was 14, so half my lifetime. it's just that most of their works are series and mighty popular too. can't ever find a whole series and don't wanna risk getting all hooked up when it's not certain I can read the whole things. the libraries and bookstores never have the whole series here.

anyways, I read couple of the first chapters already and it's interestingly different from the fantasy genre I'm so used to. It's more like a thriller. the writing reminds me of John Chrisham's books. definately gonna finish it. big_smile

Re: Book Thread

I started really getting into Anne Rice. I own at least half of her books so far still need almost around 20.
Im getting her other 2 Sleeping Beauty erotica books for Christmas. That first book in that series is one of my top 3 favorite books ever. Ive also read her books: Angel Time, Vittorio Vampire, Interview With Vampire, Mummy or Ramses Damned.

Re: Book Thread

The Vampire Lestat is one of my very favorite books of all time.  And I also love Feast of All Saints and Cry To Heaven.  Belinda, Queen of The Damned & The Witching Hour are fun too.  And there's a beautiful biography of Anne that I just adore called, Prism of The Night.  Have you joined her Facebook page, Mel?   She really posts on it herself and her posts are so interesting.

Re: Book Thread

Ted Dekker.  Everyone on the planet should read Ted Dekker.  Start with Black and move your way around his Circle books.  Then try to catch all of the other books that connect to that wonderful series.  They are amazingly written and so intense you just can't put them down.

Re: Book Thread

Awesome Mel!  I'll read it. I'm still working through 'The Passage,' by Justin Cronin, its also amazing, but just taking me a while to read.  I'm a slow reader and its about 700 pages!  but i highly recommend it - its a vampire/post apocalypse book.  Really amazing, quite a ride.

Re: Book Thread

TeeJay should read The Wolf Gift and imagine Matthew Bomer as the main character.  Anne wrote it with him in mind. tongue

Yeah, I saw the image, and it did look very Bomer-like. Maybe I'll give it a shot. smile
