Hehe...well I have to admit, I didn't necessarily like the movie, I just loved the idea of two horror movie icons going head to head against each other. After countless hours of arguing with your buddies about who would win they finally made a movie about it. smile Aliens vs Predator kinda falls in this category as well.. Unfortunately any attempt at a story turns out to be just "filler" and all human characters are considered expendable.

Sorry....I've always been a big horror movie fan. Don't be a playa-hater. big_smile
There was also talk about a Freddy-Jason-Ash movie as well...Ash being Bruce Campbell's character from the Evil Dead movies. and yes I would sacrifice a few brain cells to see that one too. :silly:

I reckon I can do that.

The Lego Star Wars games are great. My son and I have a blast with them on the X-Box. and speaking of conventions, there's the Star Wars Celebration coming up this May.
It'd be great to see you guys there! Ronnie? Deb? either one of you going?
I've got my passes and hotel booked! I can't wait for it!

That's cool, doin' it MacGyver-style!!

Of course you're gonna have to show us pics once you're done!!

#459 Re: Square Eyes » Star Wars Thread » 02 Apr 07 :: 16:03

That's cool, cuz I know the original design was made from old WWII helmets, so I can see how that would be expensive!

As for my costumes for the Rebel Legion:  I plan on doing a Jedi costume.  And then the one that I want most is to do the Endor Leia Commando.  Requiring the items I need shouldn't be hard.  Although it will be difficult for Leia's weapon as well as the helmet.

Hey that's awesome. My wife did the Endor/Ewok Village Leia and it turned out really nice. Good luck with the Commando one, that one's sweet.

You are my hero for starting a SW thread. lol.
I could probably type a novel on this but I'll spare you all and just summarize.
I saw Star Wars:A New Hope when I was four in 1977 at a Drive-In movie theater with my dad back in Carlsbad, NM. I only remembered bits and pieces of it, notably Darth Vader choking Captain Antilles...and the Sand People, but after a second viewing, I had all the ship's names and characters memorized, and had all the old school toys(Still do in fact) and basically my childhood life revolved around Star Wars as well as all the other kids I grew up with. My father was a big Star Trek fan, but when I was growing up, all we had to go on was the Original Series and the Motion picture...which just didn't have the excitement that a kid my age was looking for. I think it's perfectly fine to like both "Sagas", I just enjoyed SW more.
Fast forward to present time..I am currently a member of the 501st Legion, as well as an officer in our local Fan Force called Mos Alba. I have amassed a very large and intimidating collection consisting of everything you could imagine related to SW going back to 1978. I have a SW tattoo, my license plate says, "BOBAFET" lol, I named my son Jacen after Han and Leia's son in the books, and have been to the first three Star Wars Celebrations, with a 4th one to follow this summer. big_smile
Well shoot, it's a going to be a novel anyways....sorry.
Right now I am having the most fun introducing my son to SW. He loves to play Battlefront II on the X-Box, loves the movies, loves the action figures, and loves when I suit up in my armor.
I have a ton of SW related stories, but maybe I'll save them for another time. tongue

LOL. No prob Tina!

Yes, my armor is now a movie prop, yay! lol
The costume has all kinds of names: Shadow Trooper, Stealth Trooper, Dork in plastic. Any of those will work.

I don't know why I never checked their website until today, but one of the local radio stations was at the Theater scene shoot and posted a few pics last year. We're in a couple of them. Check it out:

Tina,
Are you planning on going to the Celebration in Europe? Or does it depend on if Chris will be there ?

That's awesome that you are planning on coming to the states to watch the film! I'm sure it'll be a blast. Our costuming group is currently in the process of working on an event with one of the local theaters for the release. I know some other groups around the country are planning on doing so too. But our's should be extra cool because it'll be a lot of us who were actually in the movie wearing the actual costumes we wore, so I can't wait for that! big_smile (we were hoping we could've kept our Trekkie costumes-or is it Trekker? but no such luck.)

Hey Tina, make sure to watch the Star Wars Holiday Special too!
