I didnt think that could be true...that just blows my mind. Here in Australia, without cable you are looking at channel 2, 7, 9, 10, 28(SBS) 31, and they have just brought out OneHD which is the sports channel now. Thats it. Even then 31 is really random and i never watch it. For hours on end when they dont have anything to broadcast they show fish swimming around an aquarium. 28 is laughed at as the Sex Between Soccer network, generally international arthouse stuff and i think about 5 hours of international news. Channel 2 is also a low budget channel and tends to show local interveiw or quiz shows, and cartoons. So i would say that about 80-90% of my TV watching comes from 3 channels. I just cant fathom over 100. Well we do also have cable here and i know there are alot more channels with that but even then i think its like 70 channels on that. So my general statement from this entire rant would be.... WOW.

Ok i always seem to read these and feel so out of the loop not knowing who people are or movies that are mentioned. But i did actually read in a Lonely Planet guide the other day that the average US household will have over 100 channels on TV. Is this true???

#803 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 22 May 09 :: 02:55

The main girl i didnt recognise but her name is Kaitlin Doubleday (imdb) but the supporting cast of Marla Sokoloff as a radical lesbian protester and Heather Matarazzo as the Jewish sorority girl that chooses "arab" as her unacceptable date, were recognisable and well played. This is all from memory of a few years ago. But now i really wanna see it again. I think a visit to the video store is in order tonight. Don't get me wrong. This is very much a low intellect needed sorority type movie. But its done well in its genre

#804 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 22 May 09 :: 02:37

I saw it years ago and seeing Fanboys i recognised him straight away but couldnt place it. Good ole' IMDB, where would we be without it. And i remembered the movie. General gist of the story was that to get into a sorority one of the tasks was to date "unacceptable" guys, have them fall for you and then dump then at this dance thing. Anyway lead girl gets assigned a gay guy. So she goes out looking for a gay guy and Sam has already fallen for her so when she asks if he is into poetry and shopping, essentially trying to assess whether he is gay without actually asking him directly. Anyway cos he wants her he just agrees to it all and she thinks he is gay. And then etc. He finds out she thinks he is gay but keeps going along with it so he can spend more time with her. It was actually quite amusing. And i loved John Goodman playing the old queen that gives him hints on how to act gay. All of that and Sam is absolutely adorable in it going to the extremes just to spend more time with the girl. That kind of dedication just doesnt exist in real life.

#806 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 22 May 09 :: 02:10

Also just curious has anyone else seen Freshman Orientation with Sam Huntington, it apparently is also called Home of Phobia. I saw it AGES ago but it was just done so cute. I really enjoyed it even though alot of it was a no-brainer. I thought it was played really well to not offend anybody as well. And i think thats hard when you are trying to make jokes about a straight man who people think is gay to not offend the gay communittee while still actually getting laughs

#808 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 22 May 09 :: 02:00

Yeah i realise how unlikely this is of happening. Knowing my luck though it will probably be once i have worked out that i am going to visit the US on holidays that i find out they are filming in Oz. Come on, there isnt that much to get excited over Chris-wise in Australia. Everything is released after everywhere else, if at all. Its a sad sad existance...HA! I dont feel nearly that sorry for myself and a trip to the US is on the cards at some point soon. Just gotta find the time smile I'll come visit you Deb! Hehehe

#809 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 22 May 09 :: 01:15

Nawwww. As much as i agree that the idea of Fanboys 2 probably wouldnt work, i still wish it was a possibility. That would mean that they would be coming to AUSTRALIA!!! ahem, ok im fine now. It wouldnt have Linus/Chris anyway but it would still be cool. America gets to have all the fun sad

#811 Re: Fanart » Borrowing.... » 14 May 09 :: 08:18

Oh wow, see now i feel a little bit retarded....cos i actually have nearly all of those programs already. The only one i dont have is VirtualDub MPEG, but that should be easy enough to download. I have never used the ShowTime section of Nero, but I am pretty sure i already have it considering i have Nero Premium 7 and use it to burn disks all the time. I use DVDShrink to copy dvds all the time but never had a converting program from VOB to AVI so didnt bother to save the files onto the computer. But i use Movie Maker all the time too... So i should be pretty sweet with being able to do this. Thanks TeeJay! If i have any more questions i promise i will be back asking you soon enough smile

TeeJay -- I sent you an email about this too, but i figure i might as well ask on here too...What program do you use to get those wmv files from the dvds??? I would love to be able to do that myself too

And now purely cos im in a silly mood....:P
