What did you read?
I accidentally went into the graphics portion of the MB for the fan fics and you guys were discussing the chapter when Adam had to paint Joan and I got spoiled! I knew I shouldn't have lurked but curiosity got to me ;/ Usually I don't mind spoilers, but if it's something I'm really into, DO NOT TELL ME!!

So wait, you presented to 330 people then? This speech was for your class (hence the 30 folks) and classes that was connected to your speech class (300 people) then?
For example, say I have to present to my class, which has 10 students, but then other classes are doing the same thing, so they have to see me (and others) present and these classes have 30 students altogether, so once we all come together, that makes 40.. was that what you meant? If so, scary!

Oh, you meant 30 people, Melody. I thought 300! I think reciting poems/songs can be fun as long as you don't have to overly act it out; I'll stick to monotone, please. Speaking of reciting poems, I'll have to recite some children poetry in my lit class with my group of 9-10 people- in front of 75 folks (hopefully most of them will continue ditching class). FUN! Too many presentations this semester :doh:

Yeah, I remember we had two informative/demonstration speeches as well- one with visual aides and one without. Good luck with others coming up! You should have taken a group communication class instead if you don't like going alone; that is, if your major permits you to. I'm a Liberal Studies major and I had to take the single communication class.
Wow, Melody, over 300 people? AND MEMORIZED? Geez. What was it on? I actually memorized my Power Rangers speech since it is fairly easy to talk about something you like, know and are passionate about anyway, BUT I still had a little brain fart-- ahem, SO I PAUSED! It felt like an eternity but my professor said it wasn't bad as I thought, so yeah.. shows you that we are our worst critic and things end up not being so bad in the end.

Yeah, I was wondering where I got the "Fanboys" pics since I re-visited the gallery to see if there were more and I realized I got the pics from the MB when I lurked, haha. Oh, I try not to go anywhere "Butterflies" related because I don't want spoilers as of yet. I already read about Adam drawing/painting Joan nude!!! Grrr.

That's part of your informative speech, right? I did mines on the Power Rangers, haha. Do you have to do a persuasive speech next, or another informative speech? I say talk about what's happening with "Fanboys" or yeah, anything that interests you, obviously. That way, you won't have to remember too much facts or get nervous talking about it.
Or, you can do it the Dwight Schrute way and imagine everyone's your subordinates
Anyway, I'm sure, like Mel said, you did better than you thought. Hopefully your professor isn't too nit-picky; public speaking is the number one fear/dread/hatred amongst everyone.

Good luck, Laura! Is it for a speech/communication class? I hate how we still have to do presentations in college ;/ C'mon now. But yeah, how big is the group? This is the first semester where I have to do a group project/presentation for three classes (out of four). One class will be in front of 85 folks- minus 10, so 75 people really. I've only met 2 people, plus myself. Tell me, how is working with 9-10 people effective?
Anyway, what is/was the speech on?

I finally had a semi-related dream of Chris again. "Fanboys" was going to premiere at my school and I was invited I had the poster and ticket in my hands and everything. Next thing you know, I get abducted by aliens (well, that ray of light on me indicated so). End dream.

What were the entities talking about amongst themselves, Deb? And what kind of sound effects? The one I heard on Montell kept saying, "I'm going to be okay"......... As much as that may reassure someone of their past loved one and that s/he is okay, that freaks me out instead of soothing me ;/

Hahaha, of course! I actually think he made a good observation. Take, for example, "Recreation," where the commentary took place in the first place. When Joan went outside to go see him, he had both his beanie and hoodie on, but when he was about to reveal his true feelings and was going to open up, he put down his hoodie, but still left his beanie on- probably because he wasn't confessing how hurt/let down he really felt when Joan said that maybe they just weren't ready to be together.. Even though he said he could accept that, I know he's lying

I am totally NOT going to click on Deb's link to hear EVP samples. I remember people would bring them to Sylvia Browne when she's on Montell and they'd air it and gah.. *shudders* I'm still scarred with one of the recording.
