Star Trek XI

Someone posted on our Trek-Dinner mailing list that there's a rumor floating around that Tom Cruise will have a cameo in the new Star Trek movie. Not sure what to think about that...

Probaby won't happen now that Paramount has fired him.

Re: Star Trek XI

They have? I'm totally out of the loop, it seems. Not that I really care. I mean, I like watching him on screen, but I couldn't care less what he does as a person. That Scientology crap is a total turn-off for me.

Yeah, they have. It was even on TV. LOL But since I don't like Tom Cruise I so don't care about that.

Re: Star Trek XI

I can't see him setting foot on the Paramount lot ever again.  He's got his own studio now, so to speak.  United Artists hired him and his partner, Paula Wagner to run their production arm.

Re: Star Trek XI

This isn't exactly related but I watched parts of ST:IV a couple of times over the weekend.  Such a fun movie.  Kirk-Spock-McCoy was the best science fiction tripod ever!

Re: Star Trek XI

The Big Giant Head is at it again:

Shatner Says He "Can't Believe" He Wasn't Cast In New 'Trek' Movie

William Shatner would like to go where one man has gone before -- himself. In interviews over the weekend Shatner expressed disbelief that he has not been cast in the forthcoming Star Trek sequel, although his original co-star, Leonard Nimoy, has been. The London Daily Mail quoted him as saying, "I can't believe it, I'm not in the movie at all. Leonard, God bless his heart, is in, but not me. I thought, 'What a decision to make, ' since it obviously is a decision not to make use of the popularity I have to ensure the movie has good box office figures. It didn't seem to be a wise business decision."

Yeah, Bill, it's all about you...  roll

Sounds like his ego wouldn't be able to fit on the camera anyway.

Re: Star Trek XI

Quinto looks good, but I love our Spock more too.  TeeJay, don't we have an audio clip you could post of Chris's reaction when I showed him that pic?  I think you made one for Brenna.  It was so cute.  Melody would love it.

Hear it.  It's only audio, I'm afraid.  But we rarely get to hear him crack up like this.

By popular demand, here's the audio clip of Deb showing Chris the Spock collage and some other goofy Fanboys behind the scenes photos. His reaction is priceless, I'd love to have seen it on video. lol

Oh, man... I'm gonna spend the rest of my life listening to this now.  Somehow, I never realized how deep and sexy his voice was until I heard it :drool:

Re: Star Trek XI

Yeah, well, Laura, if you had my computer speakers you would've been melting to that deep, bassy voice for a year.  I love to watch S2 JoA eps on my computer for that reason.  I have a subwoofer so his voice is soooooo deep.

And yeah, that audio clip is adorable.  We've made him laugh a lot in our interviews and since we so rarely get to hear him do so in his work, those moments are priceless to me.
