Tonight is the first breather I'm catching all week, so I sat down and watched the movie. And without diminishing Chris's capabilities as an actor, it really wasn't his movie. It was indeed Jesse's and especially Jason's movie. If I wasn't a Chris fan, I don't think I would have paid a lot of attention to his character. Not because Chris didn't do his job well (which he certainly did), but because Jason and Jesse really stole the movie (seeing also how they're the two most important characters).
I liked it a lot, but it's not my favorite Chris movie.

No movie Chris has done is his movie. Wait, I take that back, I'd say he stole Graduation. Which is why I love it so much and haven't been able to shelve it yet, just like JoA.

That's not what I meant. In most of the movies he's been in, even though he wasn't the lead character, he's always found a way to stand out in one way or another, either through a very memorable scene or just by the way he's portrayed the character. Like with American Gun, I think we will always remember the tearful meltdown. Or for Alpha Dog we'll always remember the tube steak boogie. Or for GND we will always remember the STFU and the F*** her for me lines or even the whole way he made Eli come to life.
In Charlie Banks, I can't say I remember a scene where I thought he stood out, even just a little bit. And I'd like to stress that that's not for lack of Chris's acting skills but more for the fact that Jason Ritter and Jesse Eisenberg were so fantastic, plus the fact that I had the feeling the script didn't offer Chris a lot of room to make Danny stand out. I understand, however, that that's just the nature of the script. It was written to tell the story of Mick and Charlie, in the featurette they even say that the character of Danny is a catalyst. He's a connecting link. And that's exactly what Chris played, and played well.
If you had to pick a few scenes from the movie that I should vidcap for the site, can you think of three Chris scenes off the top of your head that are special? I can't... So right now I'm not even sure what I should vidcap from the movie.
Also, now I understand why all the reviews single out Jason and Jesse and why Chris barely gets a mention, even though he's credited in third place.

372 new screencaps from the movie: http://www.chris-marquette.com/gallery/ … ?album=172
There's plenty of Mr. Pointy in there, maybe someone would like to repost those in the Mr. Pointy thread.

I've uploaded three vidcaps too:

::: Clip 3
Clip 2 is more for the aesthetic value than the dialogue.

The sceencaps aren't very juicy. They used wide angle shots for almost all of the movie, and I can't remember any real close-up shots, not even of Charlie and Mick.

I really like the composition of the shots in this scene. Reminds me of classic movies like Rebel Without A Cause...
He looks so badass...
What is he, looking at his non-existent mustache???
Gives me naughty thoughts...

I have no idea whether I'm any good or not. I don't do it in front of mirrors or in public --- at least not while sober. Just too shy.

Everybody's brave on the Internet. In person, I am pretty introverted, until you give me some liquid courage and get me going. Even still, I'm Capricorn, I don't like to look foolish, kinda reserved. But yeah, privately, I pretty much have no shame. :clueless:

I guess that is true. I am actually quite extroverted both online and in person. With or without liquid courage. Actually my most insane and fun and silly nights out have been while i was completely sober and i got "cut off" from friends. Or they bring you a glass of water. Hahahaha nothing better. I am a Taurus. (No idea if that changes anything or not) but I actually enjoy being foolish. So long as its not hurting anyone its fun to push your limits of embarrassment.
