Yes, I would say if you dug ELF, this one should be right up your alley.  That's the way I feel too.  I know it's going to be silly and cheesy and I'm totally game.  big_smile

Apparently, there's only going to be one extra on the DVD, a making of. However, the info on the page I got it from might not have been complete and they're gonna announce more extras eventually. Also, this info was for the UK version of the DVD, there might be different extras on the US DVD.

Re: Infestation (SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE BEGIN ON PAGE 15)

Outnow.ch, a well known Swiss movie site also reviewed Infestation: http://outnow.ch/Movies/2009/Infestation/Reviews/kino/ Unfortunately, the review isn't all that positive. They say it's entertaining enough, but it's "fast food cinema": It always tastes the same, you've forgotten about it the next day but you still keep having it. About Chris they say he's a neurotic, desperately wanting to be funny clown figure whose lines and insecurities may be funny for this kind of movie, but it gets very old very fast. You get it, they basically didn't like the movie very much. They still gave it 3.4 stars out of 6. Hm....

Well, all I can say is that this is a movie you're not supposed to watch and expect a realistic and honest apocalypse movie. Lighten up, folks! I'm pretty sure I'm gonna enjoy this one a lot, trashy or not. smile

Re: Infestation (SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE BEGIN ON PAGE 15)

I'm not planning to buy this DVD anymore... since I've got one "lexling" = twerd = Twilight friend that lives in England planning to send it to me as a gift. big_smile How cute is that? No I've got to think of something equally cool for her. Any ideas? Something Chris-related? wink What Chris movie would be great "first Chris-movie" for a total Marquette-virgin? (I sure hope that the Marquette boys won't be offended by that term.lol)

No, I don't know the day yet, but it's some time between Aug 28 and Sep 02. The actual schedule will be published at the beginning of August.

Re: Infestation (SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE BEGIN ON PAGE 15)

You know what's kinda cool? I might actually be the person responsible for it playing here at the FFF. I sent a letter to Icon in the UK, asking them if they were considering to submit it and included information on how to do so. Of course they might have still submitted it anyway, even if I hadn't written in, but it still makes me wonder if maybe this was all my doing. smile

Re: Infestation (SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE BEGIN ON PAGE 15)

I already sent him a Facebook message. smile I did tell him that I had written to Icon some time ago, but I hadn't heard back from them and I actually didn't really expect they'd submit the movie. I'm glad they did! In the end it only matters that it's playing and not whose idea it was.

Isn't it?! I still can't believe we should be so lucky! Of course the US people get to see it first on SyFy, but I wouldn't wanna trade because I'm really looking forward to the big screen experience. Now I just hope I'm gonna get tickets, but that hasn't really been a problem in the past. Better buy tickets early... Pre-sale for Cologne starts on August 17, I think.

And our version will be edited and it will have commercials, so we're not really going to get to see the movie properly till DVD.

What, they're cutting it to make it PG-13, or what? That's gonna suck, I agree. Wish you could see it on the big screen too. neutral

Re: Infestation (SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE BEGIN ON PAGE 15)

More like PG.  Siffy is "broadcast" cable, not "premium" cable so they will definitely cut any foul language or nudity.  But they probably won't cut an ounce of violence.  Because it's perfectly acceptable in America to blow people's heads off or rip their guts out, but God forbid someone sees a nipple or hears a curse word.  We're so completely backward about this stuff.
