Kyle posted on Facebook that the movie is coming to Canada in April. No details yet, though. That's really cool!

Re: Fanboys

Simon, hang in there.  Something might be worked out.

Just got back from seeing it a 4th time.  It probably won't still be here this weekend, so I wanted to get in one more screening.  They moved it to a smaller auditorium.  There was 9 of us.  The worst part was that there was a high pitched squeal the whole time that sometimes drowned out dialog. I went and reported it, but it never got fixed.  It was incredibly distracting.

The sound would have made me go crazy. I feel really bad for those people in the theater seeing it for the first time.

Re: Fanboys

Me too, Mel.  I definitely feel worse for them than for myself if they were bothered too.  But I only have one ear, so I'm sensitive to noises that drown out entire channels.  It may be that the noise was only on the right channel and didn't affect the left so it wouldn't bother people who can hear in stereo as much as it did me.  It didn't happen in the other auditorium, so I suspect it was something the projector caused.  Maybe they didn't fix it because they couldn't hear it.  I look forward to watching the whole DVD on my computer so I can hear it on my lovely speakers --- that sit beside each other to the right of my computer screen --- and really enjoy Linus's deep, bassy voice.

So, what about Race To Witch Mountain next weekend?  Think you could come down for it on Saturday afternoon, maybe?

Re: Fanboys

I totally didn't know Fanboys was playing in Pittsburgh.  Shawn just texted me saying he just saw it.  So naturally, I called him back and told him I need to report back on what a man would think:  "Uh... it was really good. Chris died, so make sure you spread that around.  And... Kristen Bell is really hot with black hair.  And the bikini was really, really... very nice."

He's still talking about Kristen Bell.  I told him a while ago that I wasn't going to see it because Linus didn't die, which is why he told me to spread it around.  But I also thought it wasn't playing in Pittsburgh.

Re: Fanboys

I think when you posted it, I wasn't reading the message board at all.  I just recently returned to the land of the living.

And I did know Linus died.  I just forgot to tell him.  So I did pay a little bit of attention here and there. tongue

Well, that's totally understandable.  Welcome back.

OK, so you do know that Race To Witch Mountain is coming out next weekend, right?  And I'm pretty damn sure it's playing in Pittsburgh.  And Pope doesn't die.  wink

Re: Fanboys

Thanks.

And I do know about RTWM, mostly because of the TV promos.   I hardly ever go to the theater, so I probably won't see it until it comes out on DVD.  Unless Shawn wants to see it and actually bothers to tell me, then I'll go see it with him.

Re: Fanboys

Kyle and all the actors EXCEPT CHRIS did the commentary.  I think  Ernie's on there too.  I am SO disappointed that Chris couldn't be there.  We don't know why yet, but I'm trying to find out.  My guess is that it was done during the first week of December, when Chris got called back to Puerto Rico to shoot more stuff for Todd Solondz's Forgiveness.  I'll definitely let you guys know if I can find out the actual reason.

Re: Fanboys

Yeah Laura, I don't go to the theater much either.  Can't really afford it.  And RTWM will be full of kids.  But for Chris, I'll go to any theater, even if it's 70 miles away on a work night.  And apparently, for Fanboys, I'll fly to another coast.  Heh.

Re: Fanboys

I'm not sure if I should find it useful or weird that there's movie review websites out there who review movies with the focus on whether they're suitable for children, counting s-words and f-words: http://www.screenit.com/movies/2009/fanboys.html (They also reviewed The Invisible: http://www.screenit.com/movies/2007/the_invisible.html)

Re: Fanboys

The whole PG-13 rating thing should probably tell parents that it's not suitable.   I love stuff like that though, it makes me laugh.  I just think it's hilarious people need websites to tell them they shouldn't bring their six year old to a PG-13 movie.  What did parents do before the internet existed?   "Can I take my eight year old to see Pretty Woman?!"

Re: Fanboys

There's a bunch of those acually.  Moviemoms.com is one.  What's even more interesting to me is the websites about whether a movie is CHRISTIAN enough for dertain audiences.  Check out Hollywoodjesus.com sometime.  I actually kind of like that guy's reviews.  I fist stumbled on the site when The Sixth Sense was out and I was reading every review I could find because I was so obsessed with that movie.

Re: Fanboys

The church my mom and grandma go to used to do that.  They wouldn't really review them, but they'd let us know if the movie was "morally offensive".  It almost always was.
