I was more excited by the mention of Australia more than anything. I love my home

Apparently, Dan Fogler is talking like this sequel is a real possibility. He's says it's being planned. We'll see. I'm not a skeptic by nature, but on this one I am very much gonna play the skeptibunky.

for me it wouldn't be the same without Chris, even if he'd have a "ghost" cameo.
Same here. And I don't really see a reason for a sequel, to be honest.

Here's one of the articles that popped up yesterday where Dan talks about it...

I'd love a Fanboys sequel. Especially if they could work out a way for Chris to be in it. Maybe it could be the guys jokingly telling memories about funny things that revolved around Star wars in their past, and of course Linus would be a big part of those memories. Because, you know.. they'll have to travel so, so long way, they need to talk about something.

I doubt they'll show the looooooong plane ride over to Oz. LOL!

I'm now watching Episode 1. the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 later this weekend. Then Fanboys again. Been so long since I last saw these movies, I might get the jokes and references in Fanboys better if I watch them again and in this order. What do you think?
Deb, Fanboys was about the trip it self and about the guys, not about the destination. Why would the sequel be any different?
Offline
That sounds fun, although all of the jokes refer to episodes 4-6 because those are the 3 that the characters have seen.
Joan: So, my true nature is to be a catalyst? That is mad anti-climatic.
God: Anti climactic. Anti-climatic means you're against the weather.

Well, because watching a bunch of geeks sit on stale, stinky airplane for 30 hours would be totally BORING. They'd probably gloss over the plane ride and have the guys gallavanting all over Ozland trying to find the shooting locations and just barely missing them before they move on to the next one or something like that.

I wasn't thinking it would be half the movie on the plane or something. But it could be a bit. Your ideas seem good, Deb.
Yeah I know all the Fanboys jokes refer to 4-6 but I've been wanting to see it 1-6 for a while and just never got around to it. Until now. Just saw 1 and 2. Tomorrow more. It is fun!
Oh, and watching that episode 2, I remembered watching 4-6 as kids everytime my mom and us went visiting my stepdad after he had moved back to his hometown. I remembered it was always thrilling for me and my brothers to go there, because we always waited to see the stepdad's VHS's, especially the Star wars! I've always been a Fangirl.

Yeah us Aussies are in the middle of nowhere really. Doesn't mean its not awesome and people should all come visit though!

TeeJay's been there more than once. She gets to travel a lot for work and she likes to travel for fun too. I fully intend to get there one day. Trouble is, I've always had this feeling that once I get there, I won't want to leave. LOL!

Well i have lived here all my life and i absolutely love it. Though i have to admit i have only been on the west coast. I will eventually visit the red centre and go the desert and all that, but the plan is to "do" America and Canada first. Any suggestions of must-see places that i should plan to visit?

Just like Australia, North America is too huge for just one trip. I haven't seen all that much of my own continent. All I can say is that what you see when you're here should depend on what you're interested in. You can have an amazing array of experiences. If you like nature, there's tons to see. If you like cities, museums, architecture, etc, same thing. And on and on. I'd have to know why you even want to come here and what kind of stuff you like to do on vacation to really recommend any thing you should definitely see.

Yeah thats true. I dont really know what im going to do. Just within the last few weeks have decided that its something i wanna do is travel. I have had a fair few mates that have done Camp America and said it was absolutely amazing. So the plan is to do that and then see the sights on my own for the 3 months after that left on my Visa. So at the moment i am reading Lonely Planets and trying to work out whats the best way to do it. I am far too excited about it considering the trip will be this time next year. But at least its given me a long time to sort out my budget!

That sounds great. Is the Appalachian Trail part of Camp America? It's something my former Ozzie writing partner wanted to do when he was here for a month, but he got a very bad flu and was too sick to do it. If you do the AT, you definitely have to come to Atlanta. I can show you around here. We're basically at the foot of the AT so I could even drop you off at the southern entrance. Or you could start at the north end and see me when you some out on the south end.
I could tell you some of my favorite other places...

Camp America is a program that you can use, and they assign you to Summer camps all over America and you are a camp counsellor for about 2 months. So i dont know where i would be placed until something like Novemeber i will know for sure. Oh but there are SOOO many places that i would love to visit. Its mostly the West coast and East Coast that i wanna see though i think. But there is seriously just too much on offer. If i had the money and the time i would visit everywhere but its more likely that it will only be bits and pieces. I am more looking at a superficial visit i think. Im 23, and as beautiful as muesums and national parks are i cant see myself being drawn to them. But places like New York and seeing a show on broadway. The universities of Boston. The entire lifestyle and scene of New Orleans. The beaches of Miami. Chicago, cos its Chicago. LA for Hollywood. The Grand Canyon to be breathless. And Las Vegas for the nightlife. They all appeal to me massively and places that i really really really wanna chance to experience. Also i just added you on Facebook Deb

OK, you and I would get along fine on a trip. I've always wanted to go to NYC and see a show. And to Boston for... well, everything. I love New Orleans, but I've only been once. I love Miami. Been there like 6 times, maybe. I've only been to Chicago once and it was for a baseball game at Wrigley. I didn't get to see much and would love to go back. I've been to LA 5 times, I think. Let's see, once for fun while visiting family in San Diego. Three times for screenwriting conferences. And last year for our JoA reunion tour. I don't really like LA much. There are parts that I love, like Venice Beach and Laurel Canyon. But it has a this stink of desperation and trashiness to it that I can somehow never quite overlook. We got a tiny glimpse of San Francisco and I would dearly love to go back there. I've only seen The Grand Canyon from the air, but I have a special adoration for the desert southwest. My dream trip is to see Grand Canyon and Four Corners. I've been to Las Vegas once and it's changed a lot since then. It'd be a lot of fun to go back, I think.
I like touristy stuff just fine, but I'm not much of a shopper, so I'd be useless there. One of my favorite things is exploring the local cuisine. I'm a gastronaut. So as long as I get to go to offbeat places and eat interesting stuff I'm cool.
Just confirmed you on Facebook. Thanks for the invite.

Now i just gotta work out the best way to do all of that in 3 months. Either that or work out a way to extend my visa. Well i have a year to work it all out from now. But i am already getting so bouncy excited about everything, well NEARLY everything. Im not so excited about telling work yet. I do have to admit though if there was a chance to meet even SOME of the people you have met then i would probably change my plans to suit that.

I've only really been to Oz once. The second time doesn't count because I was only in Brisbane and only for a few days on business, most of which I had to work. The first time, I went there on vacation for eight weeks (in 1995), but we "only" traveled up the east coast. From Melbourne to Broken Hill to Sydney and then up the coast to Darwin. It was a great trip, we got to see so many beautiful places.
I'd love to go back some day to see more of the outback and the west coast, but the 24 hour plane trip is kind of a killer. When I go on overseas business trips, we usually get to fly business class. And once you've flown business on 4+ hour flights, you kinda don't ever wanna fly economy again. Trouble is, as a private person, business class is pretty much unaffordable unless you can upgrade with your frequent flyer miles...
Europe is great to explore too. Compared to the US and Oz, you have so much variety in a much smaller area. Every country is different, and it's not just the different languages. I love living in Europe. And there are too many must-see places to name them all. Like Deb said, it depends on what you're interested in. I myself could go to Scotland at least once a year. I love that country to bits.

It is amazing how w all are. You really want to visit the US, and the dream trip for me has always been Australia. Don't know what that means, but it sure is interesting.
As for Europe, I have been to England once (I got a job there for a week, and stayed an extra week). I would love to travel all over Europe, but it feels like I would need at least a year to do it right, and so unless I somehow strike it rich, that ain't gonna happen.
Deb, if you ever do the Grand Canyon (which is unbelieveably beautiful) and the four corners (which was kind of disappointing) trip you have to go to Monument Valley. It is only about 20 miles out of the way and it in stunningly gorgeous. We stayed in the tiny Motel at Monument Valley and visited four corners from there.

Thanks for the tip, Rick. Monument Valley is definitely on the list. I want to do the whole desert southwest thing. See Cliff Palace and some of the other Anasazi ruins. I've got piles of books about that stuff. I mention Four Corners because it's the most well-known part. Yeah, I'm also cheesy enough to want to see Roswell & all the touristy Area 51 stuff. Back in '04, my former writing partner and I parlayed our trip to the Creative Screenwriting EXPO in LA into a road trip to Safford, AZ to see the Pope Scope on Mt. Graham. We couldn't get to it though. Turns out we went during a time of year when it was closed to the public, which the website neglected to mention. Lucky for me, I loved Safford. It's a sleepy little town in the heart of Apache country, but I was totally enchanted.
