Re: Fanboys

So I have found my way back to you guys yet again. So I finally did up watching Fanboys. I can not deny that I absolutely loved it. Not sure if it was so much worth the wait and all. It was overall pretty good, even with Linus's fate. I MISSED YOU GUYS!!

Re: Fanboys

We missed you too Paige.  I'm sad that it's probably too late for you to get in on Chris's birthday present this year.  We're collecting cards/letters/gifts/whatever to fill up a custom mail bag to send to him.  If you still want to throw in a birthday card or something, you mighht still make it.  As long as you mail it like today.  Email me and I'll give you my home address if you want to participate.

Glad you dug Fanboys!  smile

Re: Fanboys

I went to see "Up" in my OV theatre today and I asked them about Fanboys, since they had the poster already hanging there. The guy at the counter said they'll probably have it next week, yay! Oh, and here's a funny coincidence: I was wearing my Fanboys shirt. Cool, huh? I told him that I already saw the movie in LA and that I have the DVD at home, but I'd love to see it on big screen again. He smiled. smile

Yeah, I thought that too. It's almost a shame that I won't be able to see it on Oct 2. That would have been great. LOL But I'm going to be at RingCon then. But I don't mind a few days delay. It's still awesome that I have the chance to see the movie in that little theatre again. Especially since I missed RTWM when it was there. But I thought that they wouldn't even get Fanboys, so I'll be happy anyway. wink

Re: Fanboys

I just checked the schedule of my theatre and they're going to have it on Thursday. Since I'll be travelling to Mannheim then to meet up with Becky for RingCon I'll only be able to see it Monday or Tuesday, but that's still great. They have some weird showtimes for the movie though. Like 3.45pm or 5.55pm. I'll probably go on Tuesday since it's Half Prize Day. I'm soooo exited right now! First RingCon, then Fanboys and I'll have my full vacation and don't have to return to work. Yay!

Re: Fanboys

This will only mean something to those of you who have seen the Fanboys extras on the DVD, but whenever I think of it, it makes me smile. So here's a very random quote for you: "Dan, watch out for that cable, please." lol

Re: Fanboys

I made it to the theatre today and saw Fanboys on big screen again. And I had the whole theatre for me alone. Isn't that great? I got to be on a private screening last year and one year and four days later I get a screening all for myself. LOL

Re: Fanboys

Apparently, these extras are gonna be on the German DVD:

- Audio Commentary with Cast & Crew
- Audio Commentary with two fanboys (German)
- The Fanboys interview
- 6 deleted scenes
- 4 Featurettes
- 7 Webisodes
- Short film
- Trailers

I'm sure I don't need to listen to an audio commentary of two German fanboys (I mean, WTF???), but I wonder what the short film and the "Fanboys interview" is. All the rest seems to be on the US DVD as well.

Re: Fanboys

Any way you could take a picture of your poster?  Just wondering what art they used for you guys.  I hope you get to see it soon and that you love it, Susanna.  smile

Re: Fanboys

Did I tell you already that I was able to get one of the German Fanboys posters from my theatre? They still had one so I took it, even though it was German ... I'll post a picture soon, I need help with putting it on the wall first. LOL But the movie was in English, of course. wink
A few days ago I watched the German trailer again and again I was proven right that not seeing it in German was a good decision. Most of the guys sound like they were still waiting for their voices to break.

Re: Fanboys

Jay's dubbing voice was the worst. Seriously, it was even worse than hearing Chris speak in a German voice that didn't sound remotely like him.

Re: Fanboys

It seems that they always give Jay a voice like that ... I think the one he has in I'm Reed Fish is very similar, if not the same. See, this is why I gave up on dubbings. roll

Pic_0119_004.jpg
crappy small quality I know, but taken with my camera phone. It shows you which picture was used though, yeah, Chris' head is covered, so that's...well not cool.
Since you can't read the text in there
above the title:
This is one helluva road trip to a galaxy far far away
below the title:
dude activate your lightsabers

Personally, I think the poster is a bit dumb, but hey I wasn't gonna turn it down considering it was $2 and, you get to see Chris' body, if not his face ( )

Re: Fanboys

Yeah, that's the same art they used for the American DVD, which I hated.  TeeJay made a revised cover with Chris's face on it.  I even had one guy who worked in a video store say he'd replace the cover with our art on their copies because he was offended by that cover too.  The taglines are different.  Silly, yeah, but they just really had no idea how to sell this movie so I'm not surprised.

Well yeah, it screams the type of movie that I would probably pass on, specifically one aimed at teenage guys. But I won't pass on it, because you guys seemed to be relatively complimentary about it...well and it HAS Chris in it, so it's definitely worth a renting from the shop if nothing else.
