Re: Fanboys

I didn't think I was being cute. But thanks.

I know you guys would know who Chris is, I was just pointing out what he was holding.

I sort of like the poster because it's very similar to the Return of the Jedi teaser poster.

I was trying to figure out what this poster would look like if you put the Fanboys in place of the Star Wars actors.
http://www.cinemasterpieces.com/rotjbnov06.jpg

Some of the prices for those posters are just absurd. I could buy a good used car for the prices of some of those.

Re: Fanboys

Oh God, that would be quite hard. But probably also a lot of fun. Let's see.

What? $2000 for a movie poster? OMG, that is crazy.

Re: Fanboys

I think it's more crazy that there are people who would actually pay $2000 for a movie poster. So much money for a piece of paper.

Re: Fanboys

Yeah, really. I bought a poster once when I was 13 and it was a X2 poster. I spent 7 dollars on it. I still have it, but it's been takin' down.

Re: Fanboys

I was just thinking, what are we all going to do when this movie finally comes out. We have been waiting for so long. I for one don't even want to begin to guess how much I am going to spend on theater tickets, dvd, and any merchandise there might be. It's going to be crazy.

Re: Fanboys

I'm setting aside a date to go to the next town to watch it. Our theater where I live takes 2 weeks to get new movies.

But I'll probably go to an early show. I'll have to anyway, my parents don't want me driving to a town 40 minutes away at night. But the matinee's are usually cheaper and less crowded. As for merchandise. Maybe I'll get a shirt.

Re: Fanboys

Same here.  I will devour anything that comes with the movie and I will see it as many times as I can while it's out.

I think we can safely say that the DVD will be chock full of extras and all kinds of goodies.  Kyle is big on that.  He had a DVD guy, Andrew, with him for the whole shoot capturing all the behind the scenes antics.

Re: Fanboys

yeah. my town is small so I will have to go to the next town as well. I think it is like $7 per ticket but it should be fine. I want to go the first day to the earliest show. Have to be one of the first ones to see it. Im probably going to have to set a whole paycheck aside for the Fanboy thing. But hey that is why I got a job in the first place.

Re: Fanboys

Oh good. It'll probably be this time next year when the DVD comes out. Or next Spring.

I wonder if Chris will be part of a commentary? I love those things.

Re: Fanboys

I might take that day off work and go to the first show and then just stay all day.  But also, here in Atlanta, there are always sneak previews and press screenings, so I might get to see it early --- at least by a few days.

We all have to see it a few times at least so we can all stop watching Chris long enough to find Sean in his two scenes.

Im sure they would have commentary. What kind of commentary would it be if Chris werent apart of it?

I dont know how I am going to see it multiple times. My mom isnt exactly all for seeing movies in a theater more than once. I think I am going to go with my friend and just say I am hanging out with him. He isnt a Chris fan more of a SW fan, so I got him excited about this movie.

Re: Fanboys

No kidding, I can't wait to see the DVD and all the extras they throw on there.
If all goes well, my lil group here will probably dress up for the release when it hits the theaters-which should be a lot of fun. I'm very curious to see if they put out any kind of merchandise for this movie. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Re: Fanboys

My mom never could understand why I would go see movies over and over in the theatre either.  But I've been doing that since I was a kid.  No stopping me now.  Although it has been a while since I obsessed about one enough to see it a bunch of times.  I did see Alpha Dog 3 times in three different theatres.  But that's the only one in a while.  I could only take The Invisible twice.  It made me mad.

That's right!! I was telling my friends, we're gonna spend the entire movie saying, "Hey there's Ken! There's James! There's Scott...etc..."
There were actually four scenes that I took part in and I'm curious to see how they go. I'm in the Casino Scene, the Fanboys-Trekkies fight scene, the theater line outside, and inside the theater.
The theater scene is going to be crazy because half of that audience was friend's or members of our club.

Re: Fanboys

Oh, right, I guess I confused the number of scenes with the number of characters you played, Sean.  Looking forward to see you on the big screen!

Re: Fanboys

Well, you guys are talking about two weeks to see the movie after its nationwide release. Try having to wait months! Of course there's no telling when the movie's gonna come to Germany (or wherever else in Europe). Might be a few weeks after the US release, but it could also be half a year. I'm kinda hoping it's not gonna be more than two months. And then I also gotta hope they show it somewhere without dubbing. But for this movie I'm prepared to drive wherever it's showing. Berlin, Munich, the Netherlands--I don't care. I'd take time off work for that.

I'm actually flying to visit Deb in three weeks. This trip was planned at exactly this time so I could watch Fanboys in theaters. Well, that was before they moved the release date to January... I'm still pondering the idea of flying out to Atlanta in January again. Would be majorly cool if I could see the movie on my birthday (Jan 24), but somehow I don't think that trip's gonna happen. It'll all depend on when the German release is and how soon we're gonna know about that.

To answer your question: What am I gonna do when the movie finally hits the screen? The least I will do is wear my Fanboys t-shirt. I think I'm gonna watch this one on my own the first time, just so I can relish all of it. I will most definitely watch it more than once (unless it's not on in OV around here and I have to drive somewhere really far for it). If there was merch for the movie, I'd have to see what it was. If I liked it, I would totally buy it. Also, I guess I'm gonna coordinate with Anne, so that we can maybe watch the movie together at least once. If we can, we'll make that happen. Right, Anne?
