The people on Kristen's FanForum are really nice. I doubt anyone there is gonna call me a liar.

Great screencaps. I can't wait to see the new trailer and more than anything the actual movie.

Wow, cool, I'm going to look at them tonight.

Don't get too excited, they're not all that great.
Bonus points for anyone other than Anne and Deb who can spot the scene from the 2007 reshoots that was inserted into the movie and made it into the trailer.

Is the scene where they meet Harry Knowles re-shot? To me, Chris looks, how do i say this, slightly 'fatter' in the face. Hope that didn't sound bad.

No, it's OK. We know what you mean, Simon. And yes, that was one of the reshot scenes. Good eye.

His hair is also longer. And, yeah, he's a little more "round" in the face, no doubt.

I don't get it. Am I blind or confused? I can't find any link to the actual QuickTime HD trailer on that page. The embedded video is the same old Flash format (which is not HD). The link at the bottom (that says it's available in HD) guides you to the Apple homepage where you can download QuickTime. Kinda sounds like you can only view it in HD if you have the whole QuickTime iTunes crap installed on your machine. Like, you can only access it from QuickTime directly. What a stupid system. (It's not available on the apple.com/trailers page either, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense if they say you can view it through QuickTime.)
The links are actually download links. When I click a link I get the standard download (do you want to open or save bla bla") dialog.
You're correct that it's not embedded -- you need to download it to your machine and then play it. BUT you don't have to have QuickTime. In fact, I don't use QuickTime. I use QuickTime Alternative which, for those who may not know, is a program from another company that will play QuickTime and (RealPlayer) movies without having QuickTime or (RealPlayer).

That's good to know about the QT Alternative, Larry. I'm not too crazy about the way QT runs.

My pleasure. You can get it at many sources but this is the creator:
http://www.codecguide.com/download_qt.htm
They actually come out with a new one whenever QT does, so it stays in step. It's very light, uses very little memory and system resources.
They even make a smaller version called QT Lite:

I think we're talking about different things here. Are you talking about the Yahoo site or the other one I posted? I was talking about the Yahoo site. Deb said the HD version of the trailer was available on the Yahoo site. I didn't see any links to HD trailers there, and I looked again with this computer here at work. I swear there are no HD links there for me, and I've used two different browsers now. Might be that they're blocking them if you access the site from outside the US.
The other site I posted has the HD trailers for download at the bottom. You're correct that they're not embedded. That's where I got a 720px HD MOV version of the trailer. So everything's good on my end.
Deb, another alternative to QuickTime is the free VLC player. You can get it at http://www.videolan.org/vlc/. And it plays pretty much any video format that's out there.

Yeah, I have that player. But everytime I've tried to use it, I get audio, but no video. So I gave up.

For MOV files or for any video file? There's a new version of VLC out, btw. Maybe that one will work better. Or maybe Larry's recommended player would be the best choice for you.

What's weird is I can't get any video to play anymore online. It'll load up and plays just a few seconds and just stops. Especially the type youtube uses.
However, I recently downloaded the latest version of realplayer and that allows me to download just about any video of that type. After I download the video I can play it without any problem.

I don't remember what kind of files because I gave up on it a long time ago. BTW, I kinda need your help with a ZoneAlarm issue this weekend, if you're available.

I guess if you wanted to, you could try the new VLC version. I will be out with former colleagues from my first job on Saturday night and I'm not sure when I get home Sunday evening as I'm seeing my parents on Sunday and we also have a recorder group rehearsal. I'll e-mail you.

Thanks. I just found out that it actually did work, I just didn't notice that Firefox started the download. I'll see if it really worked when it's finished.
