You're correct that it's not embedded -- you need to download it to your machine and then play it. BUT you don't have to have QuickTime. In fact, I don't use QuickTime. I use QuickTime Alternative which, for those who may not know, is a program from another company that will play QuickTime and (RealPlayer) movies without having QuickTime or (RealPlayer).

They actually come out with a new one whenever QT does, so it stays in step. It's very light, uses very little memory and system resources.

They even make a smaller version called QT Lite:

I think we're talking about different things here. Are you talking about the Yahoo site or the other one I posted? I was talking about the Yahoo site. Deb said the HD version of the trailer was available on the Yahoo site. I didn't see any links to HD trailers there, and I looked again with this computer here at work. I swear there are no HD links there for me, and I've used two different browsers now. Might be that they're blocking them if you access the site from outside the US.

The other site I posted has the HD trailers for download at the bottom. You're correct that they're not embedded. That's where I got a 720px HD MOV version of the trailer. So everything's good on my end.

Deb, another alternative to QuickTime is the free VLC player. You can get it at http://www.videolan.org/vlc/. And it plays pretty much any video format that's out there.

Yeah, I have that player. But everytime I've tried to use it, I get audio, but no video. So I gave up.

For MOV files or for any video file? There's a new version of VLC out, btw. Maybe that one will work better. Or maybe Larry's recommended player would be the best choice for you.

What's weird is I can't get any video to play anymore online. It'll load up and plays just a few seconds and just stops. Especially the type youtube uses.

However, I recently downloaded the latest version of realplayer and that allows me to download just about any video of that type. After I download the video I can play it without any problem.

I guess if you wanted to, you could try the new VLC version. I will be out with former colleagues from my first job on Saturday night and I'm not sure when I get home Sunday evening as I'm seeing my parents on Sunday and we also have a recorder group rehearsal. I'll e-mail you.

Thanks. I just found out that it actually did work, I just didn't notice that Firefox started the download. I'll see if it really worked when it's finished.
