You guys totally missed my post about why there will likely never be a "cancer-free" version, didn't you?

Anyway, found this from the IFC website...

"Fanboys"
With a history going back nearly to its inspiring event, this passion project, 10 stop-start years in the making, is a coming of age story about a group of friends (Jay Baruchel, Dan Fogler, Sam Huntington, Chris Marquette) who make a pilgrimage to the Skywalker Ranch to steal a peak at "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" as a final gesture of solidarity to a terminally ill member of their troupe. The film went through reshoots, test screenings of an illness-free version and even prompted a Stop Darth Weinstein campaign by fans against the film's distributor, the Weinstein Company. Likely relieved for not being the target of fan protests for a change, George Lucas actually enjoyed the film so much, he resisted the standard cease and desist letter 14-year-olds typically get in their mail after sticking a Wookie roar on their website, and offered director Kyle Newman the full range of official sound effects.

Wanting to see it and it probably not being on the DVD isn't mutually exclusive, you know? I understand that it won't be on the DVD, but I still would actually love to see the three cuts: the first, untouched one, the cancer-less one and the final cut. Of course I know that won't happen, but that doesn't change my wishing so.

This is cool. My friend on the Fanboys board, Cenobite, (who lives about 45 minutes from Atlanta) just landed a job interview in NYC so he's going up there this weekend and will get to see Fanboys while he's there! He's going on Sunday.

Here in the UK, Total Film has given their quick review on Fanboys and they give it top marks. This is surprising, as Total Film can be quite stingy on films like this. They describe it with the style like a 12A (PG-13 in US) Kevin Smith film.

Looks like this wasn't exactly a high priority for the paps. I get a daily WireImage email newsletter with links to all the major events they covered the day/night before, and it's not even in it. They have 30 separate events, too. :clueless:
