All The Boys Love Mandy Lane

mandylane071007pw7.jpg

So I watched this one in the theater yesterday. It's not the best movie I've ever seen, but it was still good entertainment. If you're into teen slasher movies, that is. wink It's not a slasher movie in the strictest sense of the word, not like Freddy vs. Jason or anything. But there is violence and blood and senseless killing. The movie has quite a few "shocker moments", I jumped in my seat more than once. And I didn't expect it to end like it did. I thought that was pretty well done.

Michael (Welch) and Aaron (Himelstein) were great, though. Michael especially (can you tell him that the next time you meet him, Larry?). I basically only watched this movie because of Michael and Aaron. Michael really pulled that guy, Emmet, off. Great work. And, teehee, in one scene you see him in white briefs. Can you say dark chest hair? LOL big_smile

Some trivia: Amber Heard played Mandy Lane, so that's three people in it that Chris has been working with. (She was in Alpha Dog.)

Here's a few visual goodies for you:

Michael:

Only click on this if you don't wanna be spoiled since I think it gives something away (it's kinda gross too):

He did? OK. LOL
Well, I might rent the movie if it's coming out on DVD here. Maybe. This will be cheaper than going to the theaters to watch it. Besides, I won't spend, like 6 or 7 € for a movie type I wouldn't see without certain people in the cast.

Re: All The Boys Love Mandy Lane

It officially comes out in theaters on October 25 in Germany. So I don't expect a German DVD before beginning of next year.

Doesn't matter. I don't think I'll have enough money anyway.

Re: All The Boys Love Mandy Lane

Aaron makes a pretty cute pothead.  I think maybe he has some real experience.  wink

I'll check it out on DVD too.  I have heard nothing about a theatrical release over here anyway.

Re: All The Boys Love Mandy Lane

I think it's a limited release and it has been postponed at least once. Maybe it hasn't even been officially released yet in the US in the first place. It really is nothing but your usual teen slasher movie, so don't expect greatness. Aaron and Michael make it well worth watching, though. Once, at least. wink

EDIT: IMDb says
USA       February 2008       (limited)
UK     8 February 2008
Germany     14 February 2008

I can't believe I saw it half a year before it officially comes out! yikes

The link to the poster doesn't seem to work. I'll try to find a working one. If it's still not working, try this:

Re: All The Boys Love Mandy Lane

So they postphoned it from October to February. And what's the sense behind it? Probably nothing. It just seems that Germany likes to postphone movies with actors I like. Well, not only Germany I guess. roll

I think Larry might be able to shed some more light on what's going on behind the scenes. Maybe he'll find this thread.

Re: All The Boys Love Mandy Lane

I can't wait to see this one. I love both of those boys and from what I heard, I think the movie will really entertain me. I expect some great things to come from Michael, what will all of his upcoming projects and his superb abilities in front of the camera.

Oh, and for the girls: There's one scene in front of the mirror where you see Michael in briefs. Let's just say that ever since JoA, his chest got a little hairier. tongue

Hahaha! That's weird, I wouldn't imagine Michael to be a hairy guy.

Re: All The Boys Love Mandy Lane

It's not like he's really hairy. You know, not like an ape or something. But there's some definitely visible fuzz all over his torso. Let's just say it was more than I expected. But not in a bad way.

Re: All The Boys Love Mandy Lane

Is it some kind of baby fuzz or is it more?
God, what am I asking here? LOL Michael is not even my type. But since I am not very fond of a hairy chest ...

Baby fuzz? I'm not sure what you mean. It was more like almost cute, manly fuzz. Like a trail of dark hair from his chest down to his, well, you know...

Re: All The Boys Love Mandy Lane

Well, to me, if there is not much hair, I call it baby fuzz. Not like monkey hair, you get the difference? And I didn't want to know it THAT exactly. lol

Feels icky talking about Michael's chest hair.  To me, he's still a baby.

Re: All The Boys Love Mandy Lane

I just saw this at surfthechannel.com. I had to dig to see if you had any discussions on it.

It was better than I expected. I mainly watched it because of Mike and Aaron and waited to see another typical horror movie that I could fast forward from time to time when I get bored... so I was suprised. It certainly wasn't predictable! I must say, might be the first horror movie I ever liked. Ofcourse all the blood and killing was discusting.. And.. No killer should ever be that cute. I hope this don't count for a spoiler...

This doesn't have much to do with the movie:
One thing made me want to turn it off momentarily. It was the "Natural selection" t-shirt.. It stinged. Made me numb for a while. The idiot that did the first school shooting in this country wore something similar in some video... Had an entire point about natural selection.. I could write more on this subject but it doesn't belong here.
