Chris Marquette on Joan of Arcadia

I just realized that there might be people here who have never seen this show and wonder what it has to do with Chris. Well, he was a regular in it. He played Adam Rove, a very sweet, sensitive artsy guy. Very soft-spoken with a lot of emotional baggage. And he was Joan's love interest. He went through a rather drastic character transformation at the end of season two (dreaded episode 2x19 Trial & Error, to be exact), but let's not spoil at this point.

He appeared in every episode except for the pilot, he was only introduced in the second episode. For those who wanna read up on Adam (and Joan), check out the "Adam/Joan Journey" on our website. We also have lots of little video snippets of worthy Adam/Joan scenes in the JoA Video Clips section.

This is Chris as Adam on Joan of Arcadia in season 1 and in season 2:

And this is Adam at his worst and Chris at his best (episode 2x19 Trial & Error):

Aw I ADORE Chris in this show, I think I'm pretty much falling in love with him, honestly!  smile
The last episode I watched was Back to the Garden.  I haven't cried in this show yet, but I have a feeling I will bawl in Trial & Error.  I'm scared to watch it!

Re: Chris Marquette on Joan of Arcadia

Hey, I understand that.  It's intense. But it's also amazing.  And part of your growth as JoA fan.  When you do it, just come here and vent in the T&E thread.  We'll be your shoulder.

Did you know that I asked Chris your question at the con and he answered it?

Really? Which one was it? I was only aware of a question by R2Roswell (Ronnie), adam_n_joan (who's not someone from our board) and Abbie...

Re: Chris Marquette on Joan of Arcadia

Trial & Error probably will be amazing... I want to see it so badly, in a way, but I don't want to rush getting through the episodes, you know?

And believe me, the minute after the episode is done, I will definately be going on the thread to vent...and it will probably be long vent!

No, don't rush it.  It's too great to savor.

Re: Chris Marquette on Joan of Arcadia

Yeah, I agree. Don't rush. The material is too great to rush through it. You need to see the whole story and then the acting will give you this mind-blowing experience. At least that happened to me when I watched it for the first time.

Chris is awesome in Joan Of Arcadia!!! I want to slap him though in the episode Trial And Error. Everytime I see that episode I cry. I can relate to Joan on Joan Of Arcadia more than any other character on any show or movie!!

Joan: "Wow. I always thought you'd hate me if I was a cheerleader."
Adam: "No way. Why?
Joan: "Because we're subdefectives and it'd be like deserting the army or something."
Adam: "Oh, no. I don't care if you're a cheerleader, subdefective, or whatever. I just like hanging out with you because.. you're Jane."

Re: Chris Marquette on Joan of Arcadia

What we've tried to do here is have all the stuff we always wanted to see collected in one place in the best quality imaginable.  Some things we can't get in HQ, but we try our best.  Man, you should see my birthday present from TeeJay.  She is very talented!

I can't talk about it on the MB yet because Anne's getting something like it for her birthday in a couple of weeks.  But you're welcome to email me if you're curious.  wink

Re: Chris Marquette on Joan of Arcadia

I had a JoA maraton two weeks ago. That's kind of how I ended up here. I watched the whole two seasons like in five days. There was one day when I watched about 13 episodes. My kids were sick so my superenergic little monkeys were actually pretty calm and slept alot. So I had the time. I was feeling a little weak my self so I decided to take it easy... Some of the episodes I watched with one or two little boys on my lap. smile It was nice having a warm little person to hug with all the heartbreaking moments in the show. smile

Re: Chris Marquette on Joan of Arcadia

Haha, that's awesome. I watched the show when it was still on TV, but I loved it just as much as you probably did. Almost all of us here are huge JoA fans, that's how most of us got interested in Chris and his work. Some even love it enough to still write fan fiction about it. You into that?
