Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation)

Some of you may have seen the article I posted about the screenings of the Buffy musical, Once More With Feeling that are selling out in some cities.  Well, it's happening here in Atlanta on Tuesday and I'm going.  Can't wait.  Sounds like so much fun!

Re: Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation)

It was a special episode in Season Six that is a literal musical.  Like a rock opera.  It's fantastic.  All the songs tell the story and everyone sings perfectly "in character".  It's really a phenomenal show.  I mean, they're taking it on the road, showing it to audiences in movie theatres.  It has subtitles onscreen so we can sing along.  It's kinda like the new Rocky Horror Picture Show.  And it's selling out.

If you ever get a chance, check it out.

Oh my God, Deb! No way. You have no idea how jealous I am right now, lol.

The musical is one of my all-time favorite episodes. I've been singing along to the album for years. Anthony Stewart Head's voice makes me melt tongue

You never know.  It might show near you, Brenna.  They've done it at a couple of colleges.

"They got the mustard... OUTTTTT!" Those 5 words are all I need to say.
Love that episode! And Anya's "His penis got diseases from a Chumash tribe!" Love it. Okay, I can go on and on so I'll stop.

Cool that you made a Buffy thread!

I am so damn bitterly disappointed.  The Atlanta newspaper got the date wrong for the event.  It was this past Saturday night.  Grrrrrrrr!!!!

Aww, "Walk Through the Fire" was the best song! Anya's serenade to Willow with "Under Your Spell" was truly touching as well.

Oooh! And "I've Got a Theory" <33 Hilarious.

Joan: "Wow. I always thought you'd hate me if I was a cheerleader."
Adam: "No way. Why?
Joan: "Because we're subdefectives and it'd be like deserting the army or something."
Adam: "Oh, no. I don't care if you're a cheerleader, subdefective, or whatever. I just like hanging out with you because.. you're Jane."

Here is the opening 4 minutes of the aborted Buffy: The Animated Series.  Watch it before they yank it off the net...

He has an album out there somewhere. One of my friends is a hugh Buffy fan and made me listen to it once. Definetely not what you would expect. He does have a great voice. Have you seen  him in "Little Britian". Hilarious show!

This kinda rocks... according to AICN, Seth Green and his buddy, Breckin Meyer are in talks to join the cast of Heroes as comic book nerds.  Sweet!

Re: Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation)

Oh, nice to find this one. I'm a big Buffy fan. Yup, it's about a heroine. Lots of fighting. Some drama and romance. So my type of thing. big_smile And I love the red heads in it. Both Willow and Oz. I had a crush on Seth Green as a teen. Oh well... http://nordiclighter.blogspot.com/2008/07/sunshine.html lol

I too loved the musical-episode. They really took it on stage? Cool. big_smile I wish I had been there to see it. I hope someone taped it and I'll find it somewhere...

Here in Finland, they just showed the third season reruns on tv. I quess soon they'll start the season 4 and Angel. Can't wait. Lots of Oz on screen there. big_smile And Willow starts to get more powers. big_smile So nice to get all nostalgic over this. lol

Re: Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation)

Yeah, I really wish I'd gotten to see the Once More With Feeling sing-along.  I hate Fox for their nitpicky, stingy, assbag ways!  Why do they have to suck so much?  I've kinda been jonesing to see some Buffy lately.  And weirdly, it's Xander that I miss these days.  I have seasons 4-6 on DVD and a bunch of eps on tape, so one day soon, I'll have a marathon.  I never bought seasons 1-3 because my former roommate had them.  And I never bought season 7 because, well, it wasn't very good for the most part.  I think season 5 was my favorite over-all.  I loved Glory as a Big Bad.  She was hilarious.  And I loved Willow & Tara.  I know, I know, how can I be a fan of Willow & Oz and Willow & Tara?  Easy.  Alyson Hannigan was my favorite person on the show and she pulled off both relationships beautifully.  Big Spike fan too, but not so much a fan of Spuffy.  And I liked Angel much better on his own show.

Re: Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation)

I just saw some season sets of Buffy and Angel at Walmart for $15 each.

Likely a Halloween promotion.

Hopefully I can snag some of the Buffy sets as I never got around to buying them.

I'm with you on this. However, I'm more of a shipper for Willow/Oz than Willow/Tara just because Seth Green was great in that part.  But how could anyone not like Tara? And Willow/Tara? I don't know how anyone could watch them and not root for them.

Can't say I'm a big Kennedy fan, though.

I really didn't like Spuffy in the slightest until 7th season and even after I wouldn't consider myself a Spuffy fan. And Angel really was better on his own show.
